I'm fine with 665+1 as a level that needs to hold. But isn't HOW it holds damn important? A 666.01 close on blah momentum followed by a market down day = technicals will probably not save the level on that market down day. Narrative and levels combine, seems to me. For now...Apple's priming for a move of _some_ kind. I'll keep out of the way until I think I see something, right or wrong. The talking heads start yapping about aapl's huge cashpile and we bump up $2. Did someone say bunnies are on the loose?

If we get an announcement on October 10 of "something coming", even if we all know what it is, it will rekindle ( bad choice of word) analyst interest in both phones and pads. There will be new speculation about form, pricing and market share......
This keeps Apple in the news and interest in the stock's future bright.

Holding the 666 - Now for a nice $5-$10 move up in the last hour - Please. Just because you asked nicely!

He's an ass, to put it politely. He comes out with an "Apple's Over" play every year or so, and every year Apple proves him wrong. History provides the rebuttal.

The best thing to do with attention-seeking ass clowns like this guy is to completely ignore him. He wants rebuttals and attention. No thanks.

I agree with Sponge. WSJ was the tipper. I think common sense was the tipper but I'll take WSJ confirmation.

Technical "strength" plus a "little" iPad mini/Air excitement? Deal me in.

Of course the stupidest line, one that proves that Kass doesn't do his research, is this notion that Jobs wouldn't have let the iPhone 5 out the door so light. Several reports and logic dictate that the iPhone 5 was Jobs' last main project. Obviously there were some internals to be tinkered with, but the main design? The lightness? That's all SJ. I'm sure Jobs also signed off on several other less-finished prototypes in the pipeline before he died, which people will also say Jobs wouldn't have approved of. Dumb bunnies. Is mr. Kass' complaint about how light the iPhone 5 is not odd in that it counters one of the most common and highly praised attributes of the same product - it's lightness while feeling incredibly solid and stable? How odd..he wants "a lead weight" added to a device I have to hold up to my ear for long periods? Maybe he thinks it should double as a fishing sinker? Or maybe he does not think...

I distinctly remember him going into an apoplectic diatribe on AAPL being parabolic about 300 points ago. He said to stay short and that it was a "mania." The problem with these guys is that they won't admit when they are wrong and have access to the media to pump their book. What a joke. If you can link to this that would be great! Nothing like having the facts to fight FUD, or FFF. Isn't that the band that played at the last Apple event...The FUD Fighters? ...oh

I love the fact that AMZN is up 2% following confirmation that Apple is about to make them lose even more money on the Fire.
This reminds me of RIMM in 2007-2009. Every new iPHone confirmation was considered good news for RIMM andthe stock kept going up even more then aapl.
GOOG is the one I like the most. Every new high is the next target for us. When the crooks on WS suddenly worry about lack of revenue from those so called 1 million Android activations a day, watch how money flows from GOOG back into AAPL and we beat them by $100 points. I now see $800 for sure in January with $1000 by April. We may get lucky with $800 by end of the year.

Technical "strength" plus a "little" iPad mini/Air excitement? Deal me in. I don't think the Mini does much for the stock price in the near term but in the next six months or so it'll be clear to a lot of people just how big this is for Apple and AAPL. It can really expand the tablet market and help drive huge volumes for iPad going forward. The Mini is what gives Apple a great shot at Windows-like share in the tablet market.

So far, so good. Slow bleed is still UP... That dreaded [glow=red,2,300]666[/glow]is in the rear view mirror....may it stay so! ( and a late day volume bump, please) Red, I want to thank you for teaching me patience via your quarterly swing trade philosophy... Because of this lesson, I had a lot of cash for bottom fishing yesterday and I just sold the Nov. Call piece of the pie for a tidy profit and everything else is longer term and looking very green right now. I wanted to rid myself of the shorter term option and I'm thinking that the 670 Call Open Interest this week will allow be to buy something longer term at a better price tomorrow... Cheers to the Longs on a Green Day!

Just a thought.
1.05 X $671.45 = $705.02
Only 5% to get back to the ATH.
That's less than a restaurant tip.
;D
