Anyone having trouble with the iPhone app? Mine started crashing today, but the iPad app and web access work fine. Re-entered aaplfinance.proboards.com and the iphone app still is not working No issues for me at the moment, but I've had a couple issues before w/the app. Tried re-entering the info in, but nothing else either. Then magically, it would just start working again. No idea what the deal is.

It's just the proboards app in the App Store. $3 well worth it.

The article also mentions something I've been wanting to post about for a while: Yes, Apple cannot have its flagship tablet using the old connector until the next major update. So, assuming an iPad Mini event, it would also be a logical time and place for some sort of at least cosmetic refresh of the new iPad. So more of an iPad event than an event for just the Mini. WRT the A6 ending up in the iPad, it (or a quad-core derivative?) almost has to be a fait accompli. The iPhone 5 benches twice as fast as the iPad 3, which is a little awkward to have a 4" phone with twice the computing power of one's ~10" tablet. The only question is, when? While it seems unlikely the iPad would have such a major upgrade so soon after release, it is not impossible. However, also of a concern is that the Nexus 7 benches just about as fast as the iPhone 5. So, will Apple release a 7" tab that is half the speed of a competing $200-$250 tablet? Or will it use the A6? If so, could this explain some of the iPhone 5 supply problem? OTOH, could Apple release a 7" tablet that is twice as fast as the iPad 3 - but cheaper? This would argue for both tabs getting the A6 simultaneously. Just thinking out loud...Isn't this the sort of thing Pats used to be really good at? What ever became of him?

Was just at the Apple Store outside of Cleveland and it was jammed packed, you could barely move. I asked a worker how's business been she just smiled and pointed around. : )

iPad, I remember pointing out that <20 VXAPL reading to you. I remember that too...and I remember that whenever you told me, I had already bought something or other (was it the OCT'12 650 calls?? or something else??) and those purchases had a higher VXAPL. I really do need to monitor VXAPL better. I tend to just glance at it, not really track it.

Put VXAPL on Stocks app on iPhone. Done. I'm guilty of relying a little too heavily on it rather than checking the CBOE IV Index or better yet, my trading platform's IV readings (too bad I have to go through the website for that, I mostly trade on mobile).

Wow, who woulda thunk it? A reasoned article, that won't get coverage because it attacks the media.

Reposted from AAPL Sanity by Boxerconan;
Docomo Europe You know.....Docomo is not selling the iPhone in Japan...look at this. Looks like they are selling iPhone in its European operations. They are small operations mainly to help Japanese people in Europe. I don't know how it is working because we all know that carriers have to order sizable unites from Apple in order to sell iPhones. http://instagram.com/p/QdIytXmmCh

Their collective statements mirror the thoughts expressed here re: WS analysts. Nice to have successful AAPL traders/investors getting national attention for a change, vs the usual parade of idiots with credentials.

I kid you not - I really think that Samsung is running ads versus AAPL at a rate of 10 to 1. They are bombarding the airwaves at least on sporting events.

My sister in law and her fiancé got new iPhones yesterday. She got an iPhone 5 and he got a 4S. Walked into a Bell store and got them... no lineups, no reservations. Only model of 5 available was 64G model. All others sold out. I'm surprised there anything freely available at this point.

They're just using some of the many millions they saved on R&D by copying Apple's products to now brainwash people into thinking they have the best phone.
Devilishly smart Scamsung is.

Did this action Friday have enough volume to feel like capitulation to anyone, or is that just wishful thinking on my part? Not close to capitulation yet. If there is a capitulation "event" it will be down at the 100 day SMA level or lower. aapl is getting hammered here because the market has been weak and the aapl "longs" are sitting on their hands. Holding near term OTM options right now is insane. JMO JohnG

Tell Mercel and Robert we said hi. Wonder if Mercel will ever rejoin the "AFB", even though this isn't exactly the original. I dunno what to call today's ugly action. But we've been through this crap before. If there's "good" news, the selling may help price in any negative reactions to Red October. Red October? Since it is "my month" lets all realize that the price action recently has nothing, N-O-T-H-I-N-G, to do with the fundamental story that is AAPL. We have seen this before and we will see it again. I despise the manipulation, but it is a fact of life. Now, in three weeks we will have a new product in the Mini, record sales of our highest margin product ( iPhone), solid fiscal 4th quarter earnings, putting us somewhere north of 46 bucks for the year. The dividend may get increased too.....put that cash to work! 46 bucks times at a trailing P/E of 14.5 ( cheap!) gets us to 662. But the ice cream awaiting those who eat their Brussels sprouts now is the impact of guidance for Q1. Really....is 14 dollar guidance not realistic? I could see higher guidance, but earnings actually delivering 18.75 bucks a share or more..... If Apple guides to 14 with an expectation of 19 in actuality, November and December won't be Red ( much as I enjoy that color in other contexts). Apple is not slowing down. Forget the FUD. FUD is designed to make true believers question their faith, thereby making more shares available to those same people who spread the nonsense in the first place. Hang tough...better days ahead! Ensign, Red October is really nothing more than what happened after the last two fiscal Q4 earnings reports when I thought AAPL was going to the mooooooooooon. What followed were choppy consolidation-type periods - fine for shareholders, not so fine for shorter-term call holders. This time... this time, I'll try to keep any bettings on earnings to a minimum. Really, I will. No, I mean it this time.

Technically, while a pullback to the daily SMA-100 (currently at 617-ish, but rising every day) may be short-short-term bearish, it's actually intermediate-term uber-bullish. As in 800-1000-by-Spring bullish. Just saying.

Help me out on that one, iPad. Is this the same as that EW/Gilburt deal?
Also, to play the bear for a minute, what makes an SMA-100 retest necessarily better than an SMA-50 retest? SMA-50 held, bounced, and now a fall-through may happen because of that trader's rule of thumb about the second retest in a short period of time or something.
Playing for the bounce off the SMA-100 might be a 60/40, 70/30 trade. But what about the "what happens after that"? Isn't it not a good sign if AAPL loses momentum again and heads for a second SMA-100 retest in a short period of time?

I think we are just frustrated over the insanity of the price and of the fluctuations...and the feelings of weekly (if not daily) manipulations. It gets disheartening at times and I have ALWAYS - EVERY SINGLE TIME - made my worst decisions when it gets like this. So I am trying to stay as positive as I can and trying to talk myself into being a contrarian.

Add gears to your trading transmission, including some for "reverse". I think it really helps, at the very least with the psychological aspect of things. Ask iPad - if I can do it, anyone can.

aapl is getting hammered here because the market has been weak and the aapl "longs" are sitting on their hands. Holding near term OTM options right now is insane. JMO JohnG This is just the kind of statement that will push my boundaries. Lovey I apologize if this escalates past this, but BS like this I can't let pass freely. During the past week the S&P 500 and NAS gained 20 points, and would have been up 30 if not for the reversal on Friday. AAPL on the other hand lost 17 points this past week. It does not take Albert Freakin Einstein to see the above statement (JohnG's) is just usual shoot off at the mouth. Apple has been hammered by the press/media/blogs the last two weeks (FACT). This is just cover for the EO's to manipulate the stock. (JMO, but most likely a fact also ) Been an awful 2 weeks, we need to keep the BS in its proper place which is not here.
