Wonder if TC will say anything on Monday evening at that conference that could help push us along further Fundamentally there is nothing more to report so we could potentially see sideways action here. The only other catalysts I'm seeing are the Christmas shopping segments ala Black Friday which can cause analysts to fine tune. Is there anything else anyone can think of? And yes, trust me, I keep those department stores in business. I never like bringing my hubby shopping - not that he likes it or ever liked it - but we did have an excursion once when he actually accompanied me and it was a HUGE mistake on my part. The sales associates greeted me by name and he was completely horrified and somewhat enraged. I had to lay low for a while. He got over it and all went back to normal Has anyone noticed that since Bezos went on 60 Minutes and spoke about his vision for drone deliveries the stock has done nothing but go down? I feel like people may have had a peek under the kimono and realized he is all over the place and spending money like a drunken sailor. All that being said, guidance is purposefully low so that he can beat and everyone will give him another chance. We'll see...but I'm enjoying this even though I'm not making any money from it. Think about it...he hasn't really had any serious competition but I think WMT is waking up and of course, Alibaba has demonstrated that they can make money at this....so I'm guessing shareholders are saying, "Hey Jeff baby, what gives?!" Couldn't happen to a better arrogant reprobate. Ok ... enough on the rant ... a little of Malbec, porfavor.

Depending on timeframe AAPL "could use a break" (daily chart) or just sent bears into panic (weekly chart).
Just my tinfoil chart read though.
Momo-wise Monday could be interesting. 105+ close wasn't bad at all.
Far as fundamentals...it's buy in while you can. Not sure that part can get much better for AAPL right now. Because fundamentals are ridiculously good, esp. for Q1
Obviously if the market goes to hell in a handbasket or something all bullish hypotheses are subject to going up in smoke

Well, after being dry for a full month, and losing about 15lbs, I thought tonight deserved a couple Go To IPAs and a ceegar. Not drinking has helped my clarity and ability to rise early and be lucid for the opening bell. Of course, Saturday's are sleep-in days, so...
As for needing more fuel, dudes, this was an OpEx Friday!! And we set an ATH! WTF more do you need to see running bulls in your dreams tonight? 105 calls kept us down all day. Were it not for those and the 40K @ 106 and the 64K @ 107, and IMO, we'd have closed higher; and we WILL go higher on Monday, barring some bad news over the weekend. I just wish there had been a dip to buy!
As for AMZN, they are trapped. They have huge customer satisfaction because of unsustainably low prices. I could have 100% approval if I gave customers a $10 bill for $9. OK, maybe 97% because I am mercurial and cranky, but you get the point. Amazon can't make money giving it away, especially when throwing money at growth and random diversification ideas. And if they raise prices to increase margins, they lose their customers (I won't use the word loyalty because customers would bail on them like people in a Walmart where someone yelled "Ebola!" over the PA system. The abysmal Fire numbers prove that).
It's not hard to have customers like you. It's not hard to have high margins. It's very hard to do both. And that, my friends, is the beauty of Apple.

Well said about Amazon and Apple. I think Amazon tried to do too much far too quickly; if they don't become more disciplined, they could fritter it all away, leaving employees shaky about their future and investors angry.

I bought some BABA calls a few weeks ago ... just thought that they were similar to AMZN except they actually made money - and I like companies that are focused and have a vision they can articulate - which is only one of the reasons why I can't bring myself to own GOOG or AMZN. They just have crates of spaghetti being thrown against the wall to see what sticks...now some of it is sliding off. Going out to try to use my Pay in various spots ... will let you know how I make out.

I really hope Apple can get some agreements with the Canadian banks for Apple Pay. There is already a far better NFC terminal infrastructure in place here. That combined with a high iOS marketshare makes Canada a logical next step. I don't want another iTunes Radio debacle (still don't have it here). It's my jealousy talking, but I hate seeing "available in the US" and waiting forever to get equivalent features when I'm just a few minutes away from the border If Apple is truly a global company they need to work harder to get their software and services available in as many nations as possible.

Used Pay at the Store and Whole Foods. It worked perfectly and the customer experience was fantastic. I'm a bit of an "old school" guy and had gone to using mostly cash for my usual purchases for practical budget maintenance and security purposes. Pay now has me back to using my credit card. Love it.
Amazon - it's about time this bloated pig got popped, gutted, and roasted. I stopped buying from them about a year ago. The prices on the things I was buying aren't much different than I can find locally and some things started showing up broken. The trouble just isn't worth the minor cost savings. Lot's of downside left in the stock as the chasm between the momentum investors, who are running for the hills, and the next buyers of the stock, the value investors, who are waiting for a "value" price based on fundamentals, is just so big. I have no positions in AMZN, but am going to enjoy watching the stock price drop as Bezo's get exposed for the BS artist he is. Drone deliveries - give me a f&*%ing break. Groceries - already a cut throat business with 1% margins and a gazillion capable and competent competitors - good luck with that. Cell phone - how's that POS working out?

So what are you guys thinking: 107-110 ish then pullback? That's what I am counting on. We may go as high as 111. The only mystery is timing. I am keeping a close eye on RSI and MACD. Both indicate there is more room left for appreciation, but given that we recovered 13% from the lows, there may be little movement upwards. Had we started at a base of 100 we would have more momentum. I like to see how the stock reacts after dividend is payed out. Traditionally we sell off into Thanksgiving and then take off again. The stock however has acted very schizo this whole year.

Since Sept. 19, when the iPhone 6 and its larger sibling, the iPhone 6 Plus, went on sale, consumers have been ordering the gadgets faster than Apple can deliver them. The ripple effects are being felt throughout the economy — and they have been moving the stock market.
... He estimates that iPhone sales are adding one-quarter to one-third of a percentage point to the annualized growth rate of the gross domestic product. my goodness.... If continues to get stories like this in the NEW YORK TIMES..... AAPL MAY CONTINUE TO RISE I believe that was the single MOST POSITIVE story about that I have EVER read in the NYT!

Steven Levy: "I learned, belatedly, that last October 17 was Spreadsheet Day, marking the 35th anniversary of VisiCalc, the Apple II program that started it all. This moved me to republish a long piece I wrote 30 years ago about the significance, as well as the dangers, of this advance. (This was so long ago that I had to define what a cursor was!) The piece first appeared in Harper’s, November 1984." So apparently CVS is pulling their NFC terminals from their stores to thwart Apple Pay. I can understand not officially partnering with Apple, but to remove pre-existing functionality and sticking it to the customer like this is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure this is going to backfire on them.
Vote with your wallets, everyone.

EDIT: Ah, they have their own system called CurrentC that requires direct access to your bank account. That's not going to work. This reminds me of NBC/ Universal pulling their product from iTunes. Looks like they're tying to knife the baby at birth.

By the way, CurrentC requires a 4 digit PIN (much slower than Touch ID) and your data is "highly encrypted" and stored in the cloud. Add to the fact that nobody has heard of CurrentC and likely will not trust it, this is becoming hilarious.

I had a nice online chat with Ashley A. at Rite Aide.....her response.
ASHLEY A: Good Afternoon, While we don't currently accept Apple Pay, we are continually evaluating various forms of mobile payment technologies, were sincerely want to offer our customers convenient, reliable, and secure payment methods. Our Leadership is aware of this and are looking into the possibility.

So I chatted up Ashley about what they were currently offering that gave the same level of security, ease of use and availability. She said.....well, they are looking into it. I asked my outrage be conveyed to her superiors.

so Mav thinks I'm too outraged...perhaps if I could just speak personally with Ashley A. of Rite Aide.. And then in reality she would turn out to be a Borg Queen. (they are behind everything that goes bad)
