$72B+ pffffffffffffff* *if I had been drinking coffee at the moment Yes, that part is a bit "out there" but his GM is not too bad...if we do come in at $2.88, or even $2.75, regardless of how all the factors mixed to get us there, it will be something. Last year the same quarter produced $2.08, I think. I'm looking at $2.67 but there are so many variables we don't have a good handle on. Revenue could be at the very top edge of guidance but ASP could drive things higher.... A 35% YOY EPS increase seems quite rich.....and then there is the unknown guidance.

Total WAG-
Guidance should be pretty good.
Apple gets one week extra channel inventory (though yes, analysts have already adjusted for that). And no way iPhone 6/Plus is a one-quarter wonder.
iPhone and Mac will lead the way. Think of Apple Watch as a small bonus. Conference call questions about Apple Watch launch/guidance for this Q will probably be gleefully sidestepped.
I do need to look over the analyst expectations for the March quarter tho.

Steve Jobs would have loved the Seattle Seahawks. Sorry Phoebes. Gonna win it all See you in Glendale, Red. Looking forward to an outstanding Super Bowl matchup. Seahawks showed the grit of a champion today, similar to what they did in the most recent meeting with the Pats a couple of years ago at Seattle. Of course the sideline story that will dominate the coverage is the Pete Carroll-Bob Kraft rift. Both guys will talk nice, but the air will be quite chilly around them. Wouldn't be surprised if Bob is offering extra bonuses for beating Pete Hate that we have to wait two weeks for the Big Game, as I always have.

Shouldn't the question then be - how does Apple usually do with new accessories? Because the watch is clearly an iPhone accessory, not a stand-alone product. Now perhaps. But don't forget Moore's law. How far are we from having Facetime on a watch without an iPhone? Two generations? Three? Go back and look at the original iPhone. look at how much more powerful it is now. With faster and ubiquitous connectivity we may begin to see iPhones go the way of PC's. The essential need is to be connected to the net in a way that allows us to access and consume information. Whether it is a phone or a watch or an implant is really not important. Moore's Law helps in this case, but only a little. Sadly, nothing analogous to Moore's Law has occurred in battery technology and that's the the thing that will enable what you describe.

Well, it doesn't have to be battery capacity that holds the key. Another way to approach this would be to decrease the charging time. Here is a startup that is working on super fast charging technology ( StoreDot). If the technology works as promised, then we are pretty much close to an "always on" smart watch.

Indeed, that could be a big plus for the watch !

Even tho I don't really like Brady and his trophy big mouthed wife ... I like Bob Kraft ... so I'll be in Chinacat's side of the cheering section in Superbowl XLIX. Which reminds me --- how many NFL players would be able to write 49 in Roman numerals? First two that come to mind as a no are Michael Vick and Bob Gronkowski but the list goes on and on. Yet they make millions and millions of dollars ... and that goes for sports all over the world. Half of the soccer players never went to high school so who are we kidding. It's amazing the value (globally) that we put on athletic ability when you really think about it...and for the most part - you either "got it" or you "don't".

When I read things like this on AMZN I can't help but become immensely frustrated at how bias the press is. They know that if they find one person on an AAPL supply chain that isn't happy they can exploit the story because AAPL brings ratings. Meanwhile this crap happens right under their nose in local towns and they don't report it to any degree. I can't even remember hearing about this to any extent...but look what I dug up. This would be a story that would last for months if not years for a company like AAPL. Balanced journalism is dead. Worse than Wal-Mart: Amazon’s sick brutality and secret history of ruthlessly intimidating workers You might find your Prime membership morally indefensible after reading these stories about worker mistreatment:www.salon.com/2014/02/23/worse_than_wal_mart_amazons_sick_brutality_and_secret_history_of_ruthlessly_intimidating_workers/
