I also see a green week, hopefully floating to 645-650.
The mini announcement will cause some traders to get back in the stock. Confirmation at last of the eternal rumor....
As for Amazon selling the Kindle at "cost" ( cough, cough), it can't last....not enough product sales generation possible to make this work.

I want to see a debate between you and Nate about the price of AAPL at various future dates. You should just take that as a compliment Sponge. You and Nate are correct about as often as any of the "other experts"!

GOOG down in PM. Good sign for AAPL. For about the last month, they've traded in opposite directions.

I also see a green week, hopefully floating to 645-650. Agreed. I think we cleared some of the 630 calls at the open today. That opening plunge below 630 was probably a lot of nervous longs with those calls closing them out, or those that sold them bought them back on the dip.

This is relentless...can't say I'm surprised. AAPL has been opening strong and then plummeting for days now.

Think we may have seen the low for the day, or close to it.

AAPL has been opening strong and then plummeting for days now. There needs to be volume to make a "strong" opening strong. There wasn't much today, and it was only a quick move to 634. It's better to get that quick move downward over with today than later this week. It again didn't touch the 100 DMA, staying a little over a point above the rising average, now at 622.54. Higher lows is a good thing, and now this 626 level is looking decent. Unofficial confirmation of an event and possible products is good and all, but it's still all rumor until Apple officially announces the event. And if we're lucky, the invite will give a hint to the products. Maybe something like "Think bigger! Think smaller!" for a mini iPad and a retina 13". All in good time....but I would like to see the stock putting in some time between 635 and 645.

I get the 100 day SMA to be 623.88, which we just kissed.... What's that from, and in that calc do they use today's price too. Stockcharts.com is listing the 100 DMA at 622.56, and the 100 EMA at 627.05. (EDIT- and they just changed, so stockcharts is including today's moving data, like they do on other calcs like RSI. I'd bet one place is off by a couple days, maybe from a formula problem or not subtracting out market holidays or something like that...which with AAPL's trend would make the 100 DMA higher.) I'm not a big time chartist by any means, but I do like looking at the RSI and a couple moving averages. To me for many technicals and patterns it's not so much that they magically work, but rather that they are a tell to the psychological mindset of those behind the trade, and the myriad of things going on in the collective shareholder's head and in their account.

He should be reminded of that later this year...

I am curious why there is not any talk about the China export number that was released yesterday. When I saw it I could not believe it, 9.9% growth when 5% was expected. Clearly one of the numbers is a lie, my guess is the 5% number, although they could both be a lie. LOL This will change the China GDP number dramatically and should put to rest the fears about China.

I get the 100 day SMA to be 623.88, which we just kissed.... Not sure which way it's supposed to be calculated, but using the last 100 days of closing prices, I have the mean as 621.89 adjusting for the dividend, and 623.32 with no dividend adjustment.

I made a post about this very idea last week. The only way I see this working is if they have an app that somehow mirrors the Apple TV menu on the ipad mini. You can see the content on the mini and navigate the menu. Your shows will be a tap away and you can use the keyboard to search. The remote as it is now is a little annoying when you have to scroll through to reach your selection and searching for content is also quite cumbersome.

Mac, we are not even keeping pace with the S&P. AAPL is very weak and not reacting to any good news, I am still in cautious mode.
