Even last Friday, prior the to earnings release, I don't think many of us would have imagined that AAPL would be trading lower a week later. Actually, on Monday evening this week, there were visions of sugarplums dancing in my head. Just another great reminder why I am glad I am not a short term player, because I would have died several times over already.
Once again, nothing about Apple has changed since then. For those of you who predicted that things would begin to correct after OpEx and as prior positions were "unwound," today's action was an encouraging sign.
The bumps in the road due to the new product category will be smoothed out, as they always are. Besides, the WATCH is already at a success level that puts all other wearables in the rear view mirror. Just imagine when things get really rolling, as they inevitably will.
Sipping a nice merlot with Cupertino on my mind, and eager to see what next week brings. What can the barkeep bring you?

Had a really nice day yesterday, driving back and forth to Boston. Apple Watch "directions" is a killer app. All the extra use took the watch from 100% at 5am to 28% by 6pm. Switched to "power reserve", then couldn't figure out how to get out of it later. Answer - should have read the watch when switching over to power reserve: press and hold the main button, and the phone effectively reboots. Certainly a pleasant experience, but next time I'll pack along a charging cable.

Weird week but AAPL's still in this range somewhere between 122ish and 134ish. Seems very constructive, BWDIK.
Superb earnings and guidance, maybe people are still waiting on "the Watch number" (revenue). For now, I'll settle for bears getting BBQ'd on Friday. Luckily, I didn't hedge. Heck, I'm hardly trading these days.

re: weekend thread title. Wasn't the Friday closing price 128.95?

Too much happening in sports yesterday - my head was spinning. NY Rangers...followed by the Run for the Roses .... followed by The Fight. I have to tell you - I don't care how much they pumped that boxing match but nothing comes close to the old Muhammed Ali vs. Frazier bouts. I remember watching the "Thrilla in Manilla" as a teen ... my hubby (who I was dating ~ we are childhood sweethearts) loves boxing (I do not) and the buzz was insane back then. It was a different era - no Pay Per View - No Cable. We parked outside of a "Drive In" that was showing it.- couldn't hear a thing but the crowd there was hysterical. It was all the cheering and jeering you needed. Funny memories. Last night's fight was "meh"... not very exciting at all. All turned out as expected. Now let's hope AAPL turns out as nagrani expects on Monday.....UP! Also, as a reminder isn't Uncle Carl on the BOOB TUBE this morning "WS Week"? I believe so. Check it out and post anything interesting. I have a damn Bridal Shower to attend...that time of year for stuff like this.

"....nothing comes close to the old Muhammed Ali vs. Frazier bouts." THAT was a fight, a boxing clinic between two with very different styles but were gladiators in the ring -- unlike the hyped MayPac matchup in the twilight of their careers. When Ali TKO'd George Foreman, against all odds, you knew you had seen something exciting. The money for last night's fight was surreal but from most accounts, the fight was a dud. Mayweather is such a distasteful character I couldn't bring myself to pay $100 to watch it.

Carl on Wallstreetweek:
Likes Tim. Worries about downturn. Hedging. Can't hedge aapl easily. But if it goes down, BUY MORE. Carl bought, bought more and now says he should 've bought more.
As should be, one of aapl's biggest bulls.

You don't try to fricken jam yr two cents in every ten seconds. Man!

Icahn actually seems like a really smart guy. Nice to hear about his early days and his dabbling in medicine. I have a new level of respect for him.

My 42mm stainless black sport band Apple Watch is shipping and arriving a week early: May 5th, instead of the 13th.
Anyone else have their orders bumped up over the weekend?

Bah. We had a 4 in LA this morning at 4AM, and I barely stirred. Those poor bastards in Nepal are having 6+ aftershocks.
