Similar thing happened with my cousin's friend. He was at his son's soccer game, and got hit by the ball. (wasn't watching carefully). The next day, a friend mentioned that he looked really flushed and his face was all red. They went to the hospital where the Dr. said his heart rate was really too high. He asked how long this had been going on for. He reached for his iPhone and looked it up. It had been going on for a day. The Dr. realized something was wrong and was able to diagnose it right away and provide the appropriate meds. As he says it, the Apple Watch saved his life.

I've had the same thing happen 2 or 3 times since getting it back in May. Figure this little glitch will disappear when Watch OS 2.0 is released.

Is anyone using the News app in IOS 9? I used Zite before but I really like what Apple is doing. I've used Zite and Flipboard. Flipboard is pretty well done so I wouldn't mind seeing Apple Flipboard among my icons. Just sayin'. :-)

Regarding a possible Apple Car. Personally I am not yet convinced that Apple would want to enter that business. Though I have little doubt they are doing plenty of car research for various purposes. But then I got to thinking, how much investment in R&D would it take to develop a car? How much has Tesla spent so far, for example? Even if it's $5B, would we even notice (in financial statements, etc) such a relatively small sum over period of years? We will probably have to continue this conversation tomorrow when everyone is back

I saw a very nice iPhone ad while watching football today .... I would like to see a few more as the ad does a great job of showing how many new things (Hardware and Software) are on the new phone. I heard more than a few people on the dreaded CNBC say how it was really a "disappointing" new upgrade when in fact this could be one of the most significant "S" upgrades ever.
BTW ... Loving "Hey Siri" ... using it in my car a lot already. "Hey Siri play some Miles Davis " , "Hey Siri call home" , "Hey Siri make me a sandwich .." Well ... one day !
Would love to know what features on the new iOS9 you are using .... I pretty bad at exploring and told myself this time I would actually learn a few new tricks ... so Whadda Got ?
Cheers to the longs

Cheers to the longs Siri in the car is great, especially if you don't drive a Toyota pickup with no sound-proofing. Ted: "Text Josh, are you home yet?" Siri: "Ready to send?" Ted: "Read it back to me" Siri: "Your message to Josh says... Ready to send?" Also if a text comes in, you can ask Siri to read you the new message, reply, change the reply, etc. It really is becoming an excellent PDA, and every once in a while it makes me laugh. Nice.

It amuses me that anti-Apple people can't even let an article like this remain in the Internet Wild without naysaying Apple products. It's not enough that a life was perhaps saved. Must-not-let-nice-things-be-said-about-Apple-products. Nice to see that both whiners got a response. ========== Whine: To: SwordmakerIt’s too bad he didn’t buy an Android watch several years ago. He would have discovered this long ago, and with proper medical attention he might have been able to play football safely now. 5 posted on September 20, 2015 at 6:52:38 AM PDT by norwaypinesavage (The Stone Age did not end because we ran out of stones) Response: To: norwaypinesavageIt’s too bad he didn’t buy an Android watch several years ago. He would have discovered this long ago, and with proper medical attention he might have been able to play football safely now. It is not a chronic condition. It only happened because of the unique conditions of that particular day and having two football practices in one day. He did not keep hydrated enough during the practices in the heat. Having a smart watch prior to that time would have shown nothing.PS, it would not have been "several years ago" but less than two. The first Android wear watches did not have bio-metric sensors in them. So sorry to burst your bubble. Do a Google search on them and see.9 posted on September 20, 2015 at 4:39:58 PM PDT by Swordmaker ( This tag line is a Microsoft insult free zone... but if the insults to Mac users continue...) ========== Whine: To: urbanpovertylawcenter; Swordmaker Oh, come on - the same could have been done with any of the widely available watches with heart-rate monitor functions built in them. I've been doing the same with a Polar (albeit needing a separate, but more accurate, chest strap) for 15 years, now! 7 posted on September 20, 2015 at 10:05:58 AM PDT by YossarianResponse: To: YossarianOh, come on - the same could have been done with any of the widely available watches with heart-rate monitor functions built in them. But he didn't. . . and how many times do you take off that chest strap as soon as you finish exercising, like most people do? The only reason this teenager noticed the problem was that two hours after he got finished he was still wearing his Apple Watch. Most people would not be wearing an exercise chest strap after taking their post exercise shower. I'm not sure what's so scary, just some headless robot goat terminators, not creepy at all.
