VW off about 20% again today. 78 billion euro market cap and PE of 3.7.... some leading auto technology going very cheap for someone with plenty of foreign cash sloshing about... VW brand severely tarnished. Although I do not expect Apple to actually get involved in the assembly of any future Apple car, interestingly Foster & Partners (who are designing the Apple campus and Apple stores), designed the McLaren production centre in 2009-2011: www.fosterandpartners.com/projects/mclaren-production-centre/New post just published by Horace Dediu about car production: www.asymco.com/2015/09/22/soft-underbelly/

In a lecture last week, Norman Foster briefly mentioned the Apple campus project. It can be viewed here (runs from the 44:30 to 48:30 mark). www.fosterandpartners.com/practice-data/videos/#&vid=139570985I was in the Foster studio last week...great location overlooking the River Thames in London. They had a very large model of the Apple campus in the office, in addition to computer generated images of recent Apple stores on the walls. Some very complimentary reviews of the new iPhones being published this morning.

The iPhone 6s embargo on reviews was lifted early this year....a ton of them out this morning.
All quite positive....and the speed of the new phone on Geekbench tests is astounding..

Ok time to go green. This Market is easy to trade. Technicals and fundamentals are lining up which is a good thing. Short term (rest of this month is hard to gauge) but I am planning and investing for a big bounce. Trade em well ladies and gents and do your own DD

This stock definitely not trading on fundamentals, and all the positive news flow is having zero effect.

A bit late to the "car talk" thread yesterday, but I'd like to jump in add my 2 cents to whoever said yesterday that "phones were a low margin" product before Apple joined the party. I have a slightly giddy feeling about what this co. could do to the car market - DISRUPT.
For those of us living in Califonia for example (and much the US, not really served by any real public transportation infastructure), one's car is an extension of one's "home" - office, music listening environment, etc. Only apple could design THE vehicle that leverages all of their great software ecosystem into a beautiful and elegrant and GREEN solution. We've already put solar panels on our home, and right now use a ford plug in C-Max for all of our in town trips on pure electric power.
Although I think Tesla has made major strides in breaking out the electric car market and I'm long some TSLA LEAPS for fun, I can only imagine what new brilliant ideas, both in physical design, and manufacturing expertise the great minds as apple can come up with.
Also, TSLA does not have the economics of scale and finaicael war chest that apple has. Can you imagine how much larger our cash hoard will be by 2019. I like the buybacks and dividend, but seeing this company invest in manufacturing a better solution to travel, that goes easier on the environment, I'm all for.

AAPL is following the market. Retail investors are edgy and confused, many are selling to protect their gains and capital. Not just stock market, RE market (both sale price and rental) is dropping too. Air of bearishness but not extreme yet i.e. more room to fall. Market bottoms when many throw in the blanket, can you and your followers give up and sell out?

IMO, it's not trading on fundamentals or technicals, it's trading on fear.
The fear du jour is that the VW fraud will tank the German economy, and Germany has been propping up Europe.
So the fact that Apple has sold out of their phones and launching their own car sooner than expected is irrelevant.
The bullish inverted head and shoulders pattern is irrelevant.
The market is a PTSD survivor, seeing flashbacks of 2007-2008 in every headline. It's jumped, twitching, from Greece fears to China fears to now, Germany fears. Fear has ruled the market all summer.

Just announced that the King of Country Music George Strait is coming out of retirement to release a new album on Friday thru Apple Music. Interesting that Apple Music can get a 67-year old Country guy and not just the youngsters to embrace releasing tunes thru Apple Music.

All quite positive....and the speed of the new phone on Geekbench tests is astounding.. 50% year-on-year speed increase, which will feel faster on a real-world basis because FINALLY 2GB of RAM (which will hopefully be enough for the next 2-3 years). This iPhone should indeed be a 6s.

Did you follow the procedure? It takes awhile. Download to the iPhone (need more than 50% battery). Then instal on the Watch (need to be connected to the charger). Btw, internet speed = 150 Mbps, LAN speed = 1Gbps.

I'm a female - of course I read and followed the instructions - it's a genetic thing. But it was taking so ridiculously long that I disconnected it again because I thought it was frozen. Will try again. Thanks.

Will try again. Thanks. Phoebear, it should tell you how long it will take to download to your phone. Mine said an hour shortly after starting the download. It took about that long. Remember, Apple didn't sell any watches so how could it possibly take so long?

I'm dumbfounded. The markets are tanking far more than warranted. No matter how I prepare by holding cash reserves I still hate it. Here's hoping Apple blows the doors off this and next quarter ?

Wynn is getting verrrrry cheap for a company with its assets. Hard to resist. Speaking of cheap, maybe Apple should buy a controlling stake in Volkswagen .

Today I was photographing in downtown Seattle, apparently looking pretty serious, when a tourist walked up to me and asked me what my favorite camera store was in Seattle. I answered "Glazers," which is the best professional photo store in town. He said that he had tried to ask Siri, but she said something to the effect of "Why do you need a camera store? You're holding a great camera in your hand." Even a phone can have a smart mouth.
