Good morning! It's the weekend, and I guess everyone had a busy Friday night. Let's keep things moving in a positive direction on Monday. And...

Ton of humblebrag in there, but those are the privileges when you're more successful than many I guess.

Love the new Apple TV. 10X better than what they had before. Siri really changes things. Smooth, Fast. Games will take some time to get there, too many overly simplistic games promoted right now. Some apps look fantastic and are much better viewed with other people. Things like AirBnb and Zillow make it so much better to interact with someone else about what you like. My only complaint is that they need to incorporate Map data into these apps and have a way to save searches. Too much retyping of info for searches. That also brings up the lack of an Apple TV remote. Old version doesn't work and inputing text is better than it was with the trackpad but is still painfully slow compared to a keyboard. Apple better be working on that... I'd give it an 8.5-9 out of 10. Just wish I didn't love regional sports so much, I'd be cutting the cord for sure. Forbes article on GMs and Warranty Accruals worth the read. New iPad and pen will bump things up next Q. I do like the trend though, they're getting a handle on new technologies on the phone now that it's maturing. Hopefully they can do the same for the iPad Pro but I wouldn't count on it. That screen and pen are pretty big changes IMO.

Apple Watch fitness/stand tracker didn't pick up on the time change. It is logging my 8am-8:59am stand time on the 9am-9:59am bar. Yes, first world problem. Not really a problem unless the issue rolls into tomorrow and beyond.
Ordered Apple TV for store pickup. Apple instead did a "ship to store", arriving on November 4th. Which is silly, because the local store shows "available for pickup today." So I wait.
iOS public beta 9.2 is out. Itchy trigger finger is itchy... Must. Not. Press. Update...
I agree with most of the jnd.com article regarding Apple UI confusion. Siri is certainly getting better and the background article is a good way to spend a cup of coffee on a rainy Sunday. Chas is right - typing searches in Apple TV is so much better. Have you tried pairing a bluetooth keyboard for this, as I have been doing with Apple TV2/3? I hope bluetooth keyboards work with v4.

Well Denon owes Apple a thanks. After finding out that the new Apple TV would not work with my old system, I found out that Best Buy had a sale on a Denon receiver. Rather than mess around with more switches and complexity, I just sprung for the new Denon, which has modern HDMI switching. I quite like the new Apple TV and see a lot of potential there. So now, I am a happy Apple TV owner with a much simpler system. Next up - iPad Pro + pencil. I am a sucker for Apple products.

Denon SVR-710W. I have a relatively small theatre so don't need much power. This is a mid-range product for sure, but I am fine with it. Centre piece of the system is a JVC projector with a 110" screen. The value in electronics as time passes is great. My old receiver was a pretty decent Yamaha. For way less money, this new Denon delivers a lot of functionality. I am not an audiophile, so a receiver is fine with me.

I've purchased my last two receivers from them and been very pleased ... www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/brand_category/marantz/1.htmlThe sell Marantz, Denon and other brands ... +1. I've been buying KEF speakers from them heavily discounted and am very pleased. One of the sets was an "open box" set that had nary a scratch but was missing a bracket. It showed up next day air after a brief conversation with them. I've been buying Yamaha receivers from Amazon when they hit the deep discount button. Having Tony Stark's Jericho missile test wash over you while sitting on the sofa makes all the pain of installing 5 channel sound go away instantly.
