I may be looking at this incorrectly but I don't think so...Samsung is irrelevant to some extent at this point. I think it's a lot about the perception of new products and innovation that is the new worry here. In the meantime - today has nothing to do with AAPL and will be all about China and US markets breaching technical levels, blah, blah, blah... Let's hope the Company is out there BTFD. I wonder if their advisors ever talk about technicals to them as far as what they see in the stock in the marketplace as they review things with them to establish strategy and levels.

Phoebe's I agree. The interesting thing with Samsung's irrelevance is, then who is going to challenge Apple? Doesn't this make the meme of Apple's dependance on the 'transitory' iPhone is equally irrelevant? Not that it can't happen, but there is nothing on the horizon...

Not sure ... would like to think not but today's carnage in general is clouding my thinking a bit. I think I will step away this morning and get on my rower ... clear my head.

Looks like someone had the buyback button pushed hard today. Look at AAPL vs FANG stocks or TSLA today. Moving in opposite directions all morning.

I've had a hunch that we might see a rotation back to aapl this year. Fund managers juicing Goog, AMZN, NFLX, MSFT right through the end of the year as they exited to show nice gains for 2015. Where better to move funds for 2016 than the place they rolled all their profits from earlier in the 2015?

What an awful trading day to start the year. Looks like our new range is 94-104. Hopefully we can get above 104 fast... the beatdown is brutal.

You know things have gotten bad when you're hoping for 105...

On a positive note - the last of the weak hands were likely flushed today. Theory of money rotating from FANG back to AAPL sounds logical to me. Would be awesome to finish Green!

You know things have gotten bad when you're hoping for 105... . . . but think of todays low at 102 which is really 714 pre-split

And just like that, we are positive. Seriously, I feel like I have stepped through the portal in Fringe and am now in an alternate universe.

AMZN down 6%, GOOG down over 3% and AAPL just went green. You are welcome for me jinxing this.

You are all cordially invited to donate to the "rickag Charitable Fund of Financial Wrongheadedness" for causing the immediate turn around in AAPL. The very second I put in a low ball bid for AAPL, AAPL began its ascent.
I swear that there is an international conspiracy that is well funded to follow my every financial move and block me from making a buck.

This is just wow! The market's down about 400 points taking down with it mostly everyone... except us! Buyback, money flowing in, BTFD, screaming buy, whatever it is, we'll take it. Feels great to not be below 100 today

Let's not get carried away. My script says that we should see FUD building the company up, based primarily on the sudden re-discovery of strength in China and the expansion of LTE subscribers. This justifies outrageous earnings expectations from all the analysts who drove the stock down but never altered their price targets. When earnings blow away Apples guidance, but fail to surpass the inflated predictions, we can unleash the "growth is slowing" meme and drive the stock to 90. At that point, the climb back to 140 can begin. I am so cynical, I scare myself.

Well that didn't last long, drug down by the market as a whole. Still, holding up pretty well considering.
