Who was the one who made it public? Was it TC or the FBI? This Company always gets so much FUD - I hope this isn't something that will continue to allow it to underperform. It puts them in such a bad spot. Remember when Mister Softie had a run in with the government - it was years before the government didn't stop harassing them. No Company needs this crap - and it was just their luck that the terrorist had the iPhone and it put them in the spotlight. Others might argue that it wasn't dumb luck and there was a reason they (the terrorists) used the iPhone. Ah...there is always a debate. There is a world renowned political philosopher and professor at Harvard - which some members may be very familiar with - his name is Michael Sandel. My son took his course and left his book here one semester so I picked it up and started to read it - then I saw that he had free on line episodes of class. It deals with these types of subject matters and I have no doubt that the current students are probably debating this very topic today. The name of his course is "Justice" (he's also written several books) - if you Google "Michael Sandel Justice" you'll see a bunch of stuff. It's very interesting to see some of the moral/political/philosophical topics they debate. But please do not do what my son did - he brought up one of the topics and debates at Christmas Day dinner one year and all hell broke loose at the table...I wanted to choke him! P, please stop worrying about the stock and sounding so stereotypically paranoid about "terrorists". Start concentrating on values, principals and real security, privacy for everyone on the planet. Don't worry though, Apple is never going to give away the key to your life unless the U.S. resorts to torture. If Apple gives them the key to my house, I will sell the stock. I will not be buying an Android phone from a Chinese manufacturer, ever. Sorry to sound so harsh but this will be looked back on as Apple's defining moment.....either that or I have totally misread this company and am a fool and deserve what I get as a financial result.

Just finished watching an interview of Mr. Ambani (India's richest man) on Fareed Zakaria's program. Very interesting comment on mobile broadband in India ... in a nutshell the back half of this year will mark a unprecedented rollout with the hopes of covering all of india by 2020 ... the growth potential for Apple in India is incredible and from what I understand we should soon be getting our first official Apple store there. I see huge potential and I'm sure Tim does as well. People who think the iPhone growth story is over are simply wrong ... well at least I think so and am putting my money where my mouth is.
Cheers to the longs

You can add Tim Cook to the list of things Mr. Trump knows nothing about. “Tim Cook is living in a world of the make believe,” Trump told Bloomberg on Friday. “I would come down so hard on him—you have no idea—his head would be spinning all of the way back to Silicon Valley.”

How about we make an attempt to not resort to name calling. You can make your point without labeling me "stereotypically paranoid" - it is not warranted nor appreciated. If I offend you in any way feel free to call me out but I try my best to see the issues from both vantage points albeit having a personal opinion. Little by little we have lost people on the thread by not treating folks with the same respect we would like. My initial comment was about both sides of the debate not one. Kindly take a moment to re-read it. Nonetheless, NO ONE should be predisposed in thinking they are always on the correct side. This is how we are in this worldly mess to begin with. Be open to opinions of others and feel free to discuss - end of story. Enjoy your Sunday- see ya!

The guy doesn't have a clue about anything. I'm far, far more scared of Trump being president than I am of the next terrorist attack. By orders of magnitude. And I'm not even American.

Please forgive me if I have insulted you but personally I do not believe Superheroes exist in reality. You have also made comments on Apple Watch, which by all accounts has been their fastest growing product in history. Try and stay positive is all I am saying. Personally I believe the human condition has never been better, just my opinion but isn't that what this board is about; opinions? I certainly don't believe I am always right but some things just seem to be obvious. Take care.

I have just developed an unfortunate hypothesis about the on going use of this board by trading algorithms. While I still believe that car talk leads them to call a top and sell, I now also believe that bickering is being interpreted as a sign of a bottom. It makes sense that when people are on the verge of capitulation and mental exhaustion they lose their cool. So, you are all a bunch of jerks.

I certainly don't believe I am always right but some things just seem to be obvious. Take care. Saying someone is "stereotypically paranoid" is offensive to most people I know. As for offering your opinion - but of course - THAT is what this Board is about but you can rise without trying to squash others in your ascent, dear. As for the Apple Watch - I absolutely had a bad experience with it (even tho I bought five) - that was my opinion but I was way outnumbered by those who had a positive one. I continued to remain positive about the Company (have been and continue to be long). Most people would not be offended to hear good and bad...life isn't alway all good. And I commend you for trying to stay positive and believing the human condition could never be better but then to sign off with your comment "...don't believe I am always right but some things just seem to be obvious"...well that pretty much is as passive-aggressive as you can get. Bad form. I would suggest that we need not subject everyone to this back and forth and if you felt there was any need to continue, feel free to PM me.
