It looked like the pattern of a week with a solid if unspectacular rise in the price of AAPL followed by a week with a modest loss was going to continue until the obvious takedown yesterday afternoon. However, it was still a green week, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.
One week until the big event. Is it possible that Tim and Luca were sandbagging the predictions for this quarter? Do the stories of the unavailability of the iPhone SE indicate that just enough may have been sold before the end of quarter to make an appreciable difference in the results?
Oh well, the Red Sox season has begun, the Celtics are in the playoffs, and the annual spectacle of the Boston Marathon on Patriots Day unfolds on Monday. Should be a very interesting week in several ways.

I don't believe Apple only produced enough to manipulate numbers for Q2, but only were conservative in their iPhone SE sales estimates.

Despite all the press about the ho-hum reception of the IPhone SE, those little puppies are hard to come by. I have not been able to find them at either Apple stores or carrier stores. I find that hopeful.
My fear vs. greed analysis makes me think that, with any kind of positive guidance, we should see the stock rebuild over the summer. There is really no substantial basis for fear right now. We have earnings with an increased dividend, then WWDC, then the iPhone 7 all pulling us forward and very little credible news for the fear mongers to work with. I sense a rising tide.

Just keep in mind that the S&P is setting up for a huge move up or down. That will carry apple with it

Can't find the SE in this neck of the woods either (NY). Again, how can sales be so terrible when it takes weeks to get one? There is AT LEAST ONE supply chain scare/rumor in every quarter. TC always cautions the public that it's more complicated than hearing from one or two but they (and many of us) throw caution to the wind and worry...or panic/sell. We've seen this movie before - I'm not convinced of any truth to that article. I should know better than believing anything that suggest "sources" for the information gotten. Guess we'll know soon enough.

Question for all out there. It seems to me that the USD has been decline over the last Quarter. How much of an impact will this have on earnings. From past earnings, a stronger USD has hurt EPS with a large portion of sales being over seas.

I think the iPhone SE is a sleeper. It is a solid entry model at a good price. I like the small size as well.

The article Here's Why the Apple Watch Could Still Be a Runaway Success puts forth a very reasonable thesis that health insurers may be willing to subsidize the use of the Apple Watch in order to obtain more information about their clients, or in some cases just as a way to make their clients more adept at being heath conscious. The thing that drives me mad though is the title. The Watch is already a major player in category and is clearly in its infancy as far as power and sophistication. It's the curse of the iPhone, the standard by which any other Apple product is doomed to be a "failure."
