Too damn whippy.
This isn't my game. Glad I set up my trades the way I did. Things will settle down eventually and I can figure things out then.
Things looking OK for AAPL considering.

Bottoming still in process. Stay nimble, all you shorter-term traders.
(Keeping an eye on my Feb 12 trade myself.)

Thank you for the informative reply AppleII+!! Hopefully the 83.4% of the high is the lowest we will go. One thing I have noticed is due to the steepness of the slope on this dip, we have moved quickly away from the MA's. For instance, 50 day MA is still around $660 and even the 100 day MA is around 628 and 20 day MA is 636 zone. So we have to incease the share price by quite a bit before we begin to start to approach some of these key moving averages.

Someone named Rolfe Winkler seems sure that Microsoft Surface software has passed the iPad. His credibility is somewhat undercut by his pronunciation of "Jonny Ivy." I won't bother linking to the video; WSJ should be ashamed.

Well AAPL (low $587.70) broke below the daily Oct 31st SMA(588.73) and Bollinger Bands(589.26).
Looking at Oct 26th $587.85 SMA and $595.44 Bollinger Band the low today also broke them also.
As I am down to < 13% cash all my bids are positioned if AAPL falls below $585. I may miss this bottom, but must keep cash for any further declines.
Good luck to all.

Uh, I forgot the Fibonacci bands from ~$570 to ~ $705. We're trading today below the 78.6% retracement level. I do not want to see 100% retracement to ~$570.

Still lots of noise, though it _looks_ like AAPL is trying a deliberate-if-volatile move higher throughout the day.
For now? I'll just watch closely unless there's a move with conviction or 600 can be reclaimed with some authority.

I bought a handful of Jan 600's at $30 this morning. That's the last of my cash. I'm hoping the fact that we bounced of the 200 day means something. Plus $588 is the lowest we got to last quarter based on a multiple of cash per share. Travis maintains it is the only thing that correlates with AAPL. aaplpain.com/?page_id=1251

I am wondering about the people in the northeast who are not posting, hope you guys are well. I have not heard anything about power and cell service. Looks like the weather will cooperate to get things back up and running.

Big beat by CRUS which should rub off a little on our little aapl. cheers to the longs JohnG CRUS Halted: FYQ2 Beats, Q3 Rev View Crushes Estimates.EmailPrint smaller Larger By Tiernan Ray Shares of chip maker Cirrus Logic (CRUS), which is probably best known these days for supply audio chips to various Apple (AAPL) products, were halted just before the company reported fiscal Q2 revenue and earnings per share that topped analysts’ estimates and projected this quarter’s revenue well ahead as well. Revenue in the three months ended in September rose 91%, year over year, and more than doubled quarter over quarter, to $193.8 million, yielding EPS of 79 cnets. Analysts on average had been modeling $181 million and 71 cents. For thecurrent quarter, the company sees revenue in a range of $270 million to $300 million, which is above the average $238 million. Gross margin this quarter is expected to drop from last quarter’s 52% to a range of 50% to 52%. The last quote for CRUS shares was up $1.22, or almost 3%, at $42 in late trading, after closing up 1% at $40.78. Shares are expected to resume trading at 4:30 pm, Eastern time __________________________________ This is a big beat and very strong guidance...hmmmmm

Looks like the weather will cooperate to get things back up and running. Thanks for the good wishes. I live in midtown NYC. Luckily no flooding in my neighborhood. Power stayed on, which is more than I can say for those who live south of 37th Street. There are more than 4 million people without power in NY, NJ and CT. The entire subway system is flooded and the best guess as to when it will be running is maybe over the weekend in preparation for Monday. Commuter trains and buses are also down and there is no current estimate on when they will be back 100%. It's absolutely remarkable and devastating what has happened. I cannot even guess what the property damage let alone impact on the economy.

Good article. The current price of apple is kind of crazy right now. It defies all logic to be down nearly everyday and have a p/e of 13.5. I really hope that prediction in the article is correct I do have a feeling we are getting close to a bottom however I am prepared for the possibility that apple will not recover this year. In the meantime the dividend will help a little bit with the everyday pain of being an apple stock shareholder. I do find it hard to believe apple will rally 17% between now and end of year but stranger things have happened and I would love to be wrong.

P/C 4.5 = 575.44 P/E 13 = 574.08
If SMA200 fails to hold, that's what I'm looking for. I get the feeling this is about to be over.

I live in NYC. basically below 39th street you are stuck in the 1800's. No Power, No Cell Service, No Hot water, no subway. It's kinda scary at night, actually very scary at night. Pitch black in NYC with minimal people around and nothing open is pretty terrifying.
Above 39th street it's back to modern civilization. I live on the Lower East Side. Walked the 60 blocks to work so i have internet here. Wanted to check email and put a trade or two in.

Reading the 10K, I notice that Apple plan another $10 billion of capital expenditure in 2013.
