Two up weeks in a row, albeit with a small increase this week. Feels like a long time to the annual September unveiling. iPhone 7 Leak Reveals Important Late Upgrades documents leaks that suggest wireless charging and some level of waterproofing may be on tap. WWDC showed that things may also be very exciting on the software side. As I have mentioned, I was particularly impressed by the ruthlessness with which Apple revised watchOS, evidently guided by further understanding of how users have actually used the device. I suspect that most, if not all, of us are saddened and shocked by the societal events of the past week. I choose to view them as a reminder that all of us need to do a better job communicating with and trying to understand the views of those with whom we may have differences. Without meaning to draw any equivalency, I think that we can apply that thought right here at AFB. Peace

Breaking protocol by following up on my own post... ...Daniel Eran Dilger provides voluminous (in both size and depth) counterpoint to the "nothing new about the iPhone 7" meme in Actually, there is something new about Apple's upcoming iPhone 7. Once again, the value of Apple's in-house silicon design and execution is highlighted.

An interesting article on TMO about Mac's future: www.macobserver.com/columns-opinions/particle-debris/macintosh-product-line-will-soon-change-eyes/His thesis is that the trashcan Mac Pro and the Mac Mini (which I, as a photographer, use as my desktop machine, paired to a professional monitor) will disappear. He speculates that maybe there will be a new Mac Pro machine, but I won't hold my breath, since Apple seems dedicated to the consumer market rather than the loyal pro market. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Windows could be in my future if these desktop Macs prove to be dead ends.

But is this the same article linked by Ted on July 3rd? I enjoyed the article but the board's reviews were...shall we say....mixed. It maybe small compared to the consumer market but is a large important market.

I assume you all have heard of the slightly exotic speculation for the upcoming MacBook Pro. I worry that the keyboard will be like the MacBook (thin and unpleasant to get used to) and the light weight may make if feel too light for comfortable use.
I know the MacPro is a powerhouse, but the current top of the line MacBook Pro's are decent.

For a few weeks now, I've been seeing all the markup in the posts, whereas in the past I didn't. For example, I see quoted text inside the quote markup tags, not indented as before. Also, I can't seem to find ProBoards iPad app on the App Store any more (I was checking to see if I needed to update the app). If I should be using a different app on iPad, please let me know which one.
Thanks.

If this is what's considered part of being more "open" and forthcoming I have to say...,just keep doing what you're doing Apple. "Tesla Motors Inc CEO Elon Musk on Sunday tweeted his intention to soon publish part two of his "top secret Tesla masterplan" following an embattled several weeks for the Silicon Valley heavyweight." TOP SECRET MASTER PLAN...,TOP!

Laugh if you will but TSLA is flying this morning ! Yes, everything is up but really TSLA is on a tear.
I don't think Elon's way would work well with Apple but at the same time I wouldn't mind a little more aggressive stance from Tim and Co. defending their positions. Especially one pointing out how much cash they have and how cheap AAPL is relative to it's peers in the market.

With regard to TSLA, this plays right into what I was saying the other day. Elon NEEDS the stock to be higher to finance operations and growth. Don't be surprised to see another equity offering or some other use of the stock (I.e. Solar City) in the very near term. This isn't about Elon's plan, this is all about the stock price and raising cash.

Maybe but I read posts from people wondering if Tesla can raise cash ..... they've got 400,000 people to put $1,000 down on a car they have never touched, driven and barely know the specs of ..... I'd say there is a market there and I can't imagine having a hard time finding a way to fund production. I don't think Elon needs to resort to manipulation of the stock in order to raise the cash they need. Regardless, since buying back in around $202 I'm a pretty happy camper .... Cheers
