WOW. Thanks for the link. "The Apple trade is the focus of an FBI investigation as an “alleged market-manipulation scheme,†the New York Post reported, without saying where it got the information. The newspaper said the U.S. Securities and Exchange Administration and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority joined the investigation." Wow.

Hm, no pre-market quote, yet. Low interest/volume day?

But this election has relevance to Apple Inc. especially due to corporate tax rates, capital gains tax/dividend taxes, repatriation of cash, currency implications, etc. I think politics shouldn't normally be discussed in this forum but IMHO isnt it a key market contributor over the next few trading days. That is why we have a politics thread. Take it there. Otherwise we will have a flame war here, and those that want to discuss the company will be forced to deal with tons of crap we have zero interest in.

Volume seems anemic. I haven't followed stocks through elections. Is this typical?

It's morning in America, and AAPL is green.

Not at all surprised by this start. I suspect we trade sideways on low volume going into tomorrow.
Just be patient.

This isn't really low volume for AAPL btw. 10-12M shares/day was quite normal at some points in the last 2 yrs IIRC.
It's the price action that's telling the story so far.

He's on margin so he's concerned about the interest he's accruing on those shares at each second of the day ticks by and Apple doesn't move and / or continues to drop.

Frankly, the price action right now is not bad.....tomorrow and Thursday will be far more telling days as far as near term direction.

Margin interest is still nothing compared to theta on options.

well shes 90 and still calls her broker to make any (infrequent) trades and just watches and reads the newspaper...and here i am reading about AAPL every day and did not sell haha
but. She is 90 and uses/owns an IPAD. Thats awesome. The simplicity is awesome. Although she does not use it frequently or anything.

(...) OK, just wanted to duck in quickly and spread some sweetness and light. My work is done here. A bit long in the face for my liking.... Jay Yarrow?
