Does that mean we should buy, do you think? I'm not going to make trading decisions for you.

Or maybe they want you to think that, sort of like a bull trap. If we were to start going up, we're going to need a lot of help from mutual and pension funds to break all the resistance which was support on the way down. I guess they mutual and pension funds are thinking, "I gave up the $2 dividend yesterday for a $22 dollar better entry price." Hopefully they are thinking this.

This thing's recovery is not exactly a "rip your face off rally". Could be clearing all the trailing stops before some more pain.

Because of Draghi's remarks. The futures were flat this PM before that. Oh wait I get it now, you want to blame Obama for that .... never mind then. Right, the markets are happy about last night. Got it. Aside from the obvious comments from Draghi and Hon Hai, it's the "I'm taking my ball and going home" reaction from the big boys (and I do mean "boys"). Screw them. I can sit on my shares for a very long time.

This is just insanse.
I don't believe it can hold in these levels for a lot of time - it's was cheap at 630 - not it is ultra cheap.

Market is recovering giving us some support. Personally I'd be damn happy to close over 570. (Pathetic).

wow. $150 pullback. Well done, EO. 21% collapse. I believe that is a new post 2008 record. Nope. The flash crash was worse. The pullback from 272.46 on 4/26/10 down to 199.25 on 5/6/10 was a 26.9% collapse. It only lasted about 3 minutes, however.

so did I, 100 points ago. doh! I started buying the dip 100 points ago too. This has been really painful. I did too, with option spreads! OOPSIE. best summer in my life gains wiped out, but at least it's changed me to get farther and farther out options. noob question: what does EO stand for? love seeing 563 right now lol

We've been saying this going on three weeks since we hit the low 600s. Wake me up when the biggies start to buy. As some have said, that's the only way this thing ends.

+1 IMHO, this is capitulation. Folks will attribute this to xxx, foresee lower prices ahead, and fold. Then, we'll go up. Volume is 11.8MM, after 2 hours of trading. Usually around 6-7MM at this time. At 11.55 AM, volume is 14.4MM shares, price @ 563.62. Volume certainly supports capitulation.

Just increased my position by 25%. That does it for the last of my dry powder for buying the dip. Prepared to sit on my shares for as long as necessary. Hooray for common stock and having a long time before I expect to need the $$$.

The only positive to this carnage is that if it rallies from this 556 low it will give us (I hope) a support point below which spreads can be opened to recapture some of the losses.
Question for tech gurus:
Does the 556 have to be tested multiple times before it becomes support???

OOPSIE. best summer in my life gains wiped out, but at least it's changed me to get farther and farther out options. noob question: what does EO stand for? love seeing 563 right now lol Likewise on the options spreads, much of which will be a total loss, barring a miracle. EO stands for evil overlords. Also equal opportunity, as in "The EOs are equal opportunity hunters; they take equal pleasure in bankrupting bears and bulls." -- lovemyipad 11/4/2012

Is this finally the capitulation we have been all looking for? I certainly hope so - no many more shares left for swapping into options... It's possible. Look at the volume, only noon and volume is about the 10-day and 90-day average. If we can double those by the end of the day, perhaps we can call it classic capitulation.
