Who's drinking? I've been drinking since 505... or specifically $505.75.

Your post should have started with: "It ends...."

The sad thing is that MSFT had a chance to start over like Apple did with OS X and then again with iOS. A lot of brainpower down the innertubes for over a decade.

The beginning of the end. Yes, of course....I don't know if you have seen the product in person. I have. It is ugly - awkward - and not easy to navigate. It almost feels like a plastic toy....but the worst was the cover key board. The whole thing was pretty bad.

Who's drinking? I wasn't aware that weekends started before the aftermarket closes on Fridays. Here's a CNBC debate between a TA guy (Richard Ross) who is calling for 635 in 5 weeks, vs Zachary Karabell, supposedly telling us the bearish fundamental case for Apple (I didn't hear one except the dopey "law of large numbers"). Talking NumbersKarabell is smart sometimes, but I wasn't feeling him today.

Just kidding, I'm going to drink like a fish tonight. An alkie fish. Whose brokerage account is in the tank. Get it? In the tank? Ha ha ha.

It almost seemed as if he himself was not convinced about what he was saying. I'm beginning to think that CNBC is nothing more than a scripted reality show (I hate reality shows).

ONE of Apple's newest superstars DAN RICCIO sold all of his 20,726 RSUs in the last two days. Dan is not a long term shareholder.

I sincerely do not read much into insider sales. Only for very few companies do they mean anything. Often there are personal reasons - and by the way - Riccio doesn't seem to have sold at the top anyway. I guess it's nice to know what's being done but I really wouldn't read much into it. IMHO

Saw the same piece - Karabell is usually quite thoughtful but all he had was law of large numbers this evening...weird. So we're going to 500 then? That's the closest large number. Seriously though, I've been using the January 2008 breakdown as an analogy, and if that analogy holds and we are at the point in it that I think we could be, then we might spend the next 6-7 weeks effectively going sideways. It sounds crazy, but I'm not totally convinced by the action today, given that options expiration played a large part in preventing a retracement in the latter half of the day. Despite this bounce, both the daily and weekly charts closed below their respective lower acceleration bands. For the weekly this was the second week below it, which is usually a confirmation signal. What this all boils down to, is that despite an impressive rebound in price, we have fallen to such a level that bounces are still going to get sold as soon as they start to run out of steam. This will continue to happen until a number of key lines are recaptured. Let's not forget that most of the trades in AAPL are being done by machines and they are completely dispassionate when it comes to trading. When people come to appreciate this, then it's far easier to exit a position when things are going well, simply because your rules tell you to. It's that what made me flip short when we had the bounce to 554 and what made me cover at 506. I'm not hanging out the bullish bunting just yet because I can still see a big chunk of this bounce getting retraced. Where that retracement stops will tell me for sure whether I should stop flip-flopping long and short, and solely focus on long positions.

38.2% not good enough for you?
I do trade looking forward as well as opportunistically. With AAPL, I can wait it out til around May/June with the new hybrid trade (sell on rip or can wait a bit)

Just stating the obvious, but I found it amazing that everyone in the world seemed to come out and scream what a great buy AAPL was. DUUUHHHH!coincidence, I think not.
Not sure about the rest of you, but this was the best $2 day ever.

I almost posted something in PM this morning saying that this was going to be the day. But I thought better than to jinx it. I wish I hadn't been busy all day. Would have not only been fun to watch, but I would have used every last drop of cash to buy once we bounced off 505.
Still happy with my Jul 700/710 spreads that I got yesterday. Will look to add more spreads next week, maybe some calls if the uptrend appears to stick.

It did seem like that. "Hey, Zack, it's a Friday night and we need someone to play the bear, you up for it?" I like my reality shows on TruTV with Danny Bonaduce and Frank Stallone making fun of Russians and rednecks injuring themselves, not on financial networks analyzing my stocks.

Now that we recovered from today, there is something that has been gnawing at me for several hours. It involves lovey's age and someone saying something about Ike. Not that I would ever stir the pot, but this needs serious examination. Maybe we should have a poll? Then see how everyone fares in the smite/karma totals. ;D I vote 29 BTW.

IMHO: bullish above; bearish below.
