Here we are at last, with F2Q17 numbers finally dropping on Tuesday. The speculation about the Fall release is already overwhelming interest about this quarter's results; I can only imagine how much of an afterthought next quarter's will be.
I'm still favoring iPhone/iPhone Plus/iPhone Pro as the new naming scheme.
I am personally not interested in the rumored Siri speaker product, but I welcome opinions from those who feel otherwise, especially anyone who has experience with the Echo or Google Home products.
Couldn't find anything this morning that I thought was worth linking to. I had been hoping that the opening of Apple Park might mean that there would be at least a couple of events in the Steve Jobs Theater over the next few months to get the juices flowing before the Fall iPhone extravaganza, but reports are that it could take as long as six months to get everyone moved to the new campus.
Oh well, perhaps the flurry of recent upgrades as pundits fall all over themselves to seem prescient about the "super-cycle" will be enough to keep all of us happy between now and then.

I think lack of progress on the tax front will create a major correction in the market this summer or early fall. Not impressed with Congress or his ability to move them. The Obamacare fiasco should have bee a easy vote.

Rumours indicating dual vertical cameras on the back, dual cameras and something called "light distance sensors" on the front. Points to a heavy push towards VR/AR and will set it apart from the competition. Also looks like wireless charging is a possibility.
Hope they can get this all together and release it on time because demand will be off the charts.

Just a thought, but I wonder if there is a connection between the radical change in the Apple narrative, i.e. Apple is no longer doomed, and the SEC investigation into planted stories designed to manipulate stock price. It sort of feels like CYA on the part of a lot of these sites.

It sort of feels like CYA on the part of a lot of these sites. I doubt it. It's momentum just like any other stock. What happens to Apple is not unique, it's just on a much more public scale due to the size and the influence of the company.

WSJ today: Apple’s Cash Hoard Set to Top $250 BillionSome editorializing instead of straight news (how the F do you know why AAPL has gone up? And buy Netflix? God no. Disney, yes.), but interesting nonetheless.

The track record of Trump's proposals becoming reality is piss poor, and that's putting it kindly. We'll see what happens. This is the one thing I hope he succeeds in.

Missed the weekend thread, but didn't want to miss this milestone: Apple Watch has been out for two years. Mine has been on my wrist pretty much every day since then. Stainless steel silver, cheaped out with the black rubber band, tried the leather magnet band, settled on the milanese loop band earlier this year. It was with me when I sold my house, moved into a motor home, went around North America (37 States/Provinces), 14,000 miles, released my first book, got hired to my first "real" job in over 4 years. The battery is only now starting to hold less charge - convenient that Apple Care expired yesterday. Still, a fine constant companion. Looking at version 3 with much interest.

I think the AppleWatch is doing a lot better than many believe. In general at work, I see 10%-20% of the people with an AppleWatch. I was in a meeting with a few execs, and noticed of the 4 people in there, all 4 had an AppleWatch on.
