What's the max pain this week? We're in sentiment mode. Weeklies shouldn't matter this time.

BTW, a rather jarring piece by Florian Mueller of FOSS Patents on Apple today. I think it's largely bullshit, but I generally have respect for the guy's patent reporting. Mueller fails to make the point that Android is an utterly failed business model for Google, and that they are the one being devastated by the mobile revolution, regardless of market share. His conclusion is that only IP can save Apple. The thing is though, Android does not need Google to be successful, in order for it to hurt Apple. It provides a path for cheap, "good enough" knockoffs, even if it turns out to be a total mess for Google.

This is a bit _too_ much buying to be all machines all the time wheeles. Though the 550.00 ceiling is "suspicious."
Friday trade sold, will check in on AAPL now and then (have two options trades left). A little "too much" power since there's now a 527-539 gap. That's a tough one to ignore for me.
Congrats to all the longs so far! Shoulda gone all-in weeklies...but I'll live.

His conclusion is that only IP can save Apple. Thanks for posting this piece JD. While I know nothing about how these patent wars are fought, the author's logic is compelling and the ideas discussed go far, far beyond what usually passes for analysis of Apple's strategic business position. You state that the article ignores the fact that Android is an "utterly failed" business model for Google. Can you explain this? Not being argumentative here; I'd really like to be informed.

THIS must be the reason for the rise of AAPL! NEW YORK and CUPERTINO, California—November 19, 2012—Columbia Records and Apple® today announced that AC/DC’s entire catalog is now available digitally for the first time exclusively on the iTunes Store® worldwide (www.itunes.com). I have been waiting for this. Huge AC/DC fan.

This is a bit _too_ much buying to be all machines all the time wheeles. 95% of the trades in AAPL are done by machines. You only need to look at Time and Sales to see that is true.

You missed giving the obligatory catch phrase, that this is helping AAPL get "Back in Black"Columbia Records and Apple® today announced that AC/DC’s entire catalog is now available digitally for the first time exclusively on the iTunes Store® worldwide (www.itunes.com). From their 1976 debut High Voltage to seminal classic Back In Black and 2008 smash hit Black Ice, every one of AC/DC’s 16 studio albums, along with four live albums and three compilation albums, are available for the first time ever on the iTunes Store.

Does anyone care to share what they think the "Apple price at which Nate returns" will be? If I remember, his cost average for the year was in the 580s. Cheers to the longs, today is awesome.

I know that after Friday's reversal there were not many shorts holding over the weekend. At first blush that would have been my thought, a short squeeze was driving today, but since the short interest dropped dramatically Friday, this just seems like the machines have changed direction. The move really does not coincide with volume.Volume is good, but nothing like Friday. After seeing so many of these kinds of moves to the downside it feels good to be able to relax for a couple of hours. Cautiously happy

Powerful move. But even the porndog...uh watchdog SEC would have to take notice if all the buying and selling looked a little too "coordinated."
I'm probably not adding to anything until tomorrow if at all. We'll see. For now, just enjoying the day.

I love the run up, but I'm concerned of when the EO flip the switch to test the long's mettle.

Brian White - Topeka telling Carl Quintanilla - that he was getting emails from friends in China saying for him to be careful on AAPL because everyone is short there. Brian said - if shorts are everywhere including the proverbial "everyone" in China (not to be confused with everyone and their mother) then the short play is over and he thinks the bottom is in. Always interesting that everyone believes this on the way down and panic is created but everyone is skeptical on the way up. Oh well....

I said it when we were dropping huge percentages each day, so I guess it's only fair to say it again today. This is ridiculous. ;D

To watch Colin Gilles on CNBC talking AAPL down was just unreal. I need to step away from this TV. He is saying that AAPL needs to sell 49 million iPhones this qtr at a minimum because that number is baked in already. What numbers is he looking at?! I need to find a pub - I need a drink - this guy drives me to drink!

Just 5-ish dollars per share to go before I'm back to break-even on the FIRST time I thought we hit bottom.
