Or something.
Can't stop THIS train, bears!

Slowly inching up, 1 cent at a time, on low volume. Let's hope it closes above $700. Get ready for all the free advertising (news reports) about AAPL breaking above $700 in regular trading

2 o'clock rock, MB? *points to intraday chart* And to think once upon a time I thought a $1 or so move in AAPL was big.

Interesting Tweet from Horace Dediu, which I haven't seen reported elsewhere:
"Apple's next huge data centre will be in Hong Kong, groundbreaking Q1 2013"

Hello all,
I found the AFB about a year ago and have been happily reading and learning from everyone over the past several months. It is one of the gold standard sites for Apple investing and trading and I am hoping that it will prosper for many more years in its new home!
cheers,

I might be on crack, but I think we run to 702/3 at close. ;D I think this is pretty accurate.

Apple NEEDS data centers longer-term. Siri, iCloud, all that jazz. Though security needs to be a top priority like ALL the data centers.

Interesting Tweet from Horace Dediu, which I haven't seen reported elsewhere: "Apple's next huge data centre will be in Hong Kong, groundbreaking Q1 2013" "Groundbreaking" means the data centre won't be in operation until Q4 2013, I estimate. It is possible this indicates that Apple itself doesn't plan on having an iPhone on China Mobile until iPhone 6 (expected to be released Q4 2013).

There's nothing holding Apple back from a China Mobile deal except China Mobile as long as TD-LTE support is there (or can be added - see CDMA iPhone 4).
Apple hosts tons of services in Asia and China, and Apple always seems to plan ahead. So I wouldn't take anything away from a data center opening date. All three of the major Chinese mobile carriers have millions of happy iPhone users anyway, and Siri is about to be switched on in China, Korea, etc.

Forgive me, but I think you may be trying to connect two issues that are not related at all. Does Apple currently have an iPhone available in China? Does Apple currently have a data center in Hong Kong? I don't see the connection.

Even if the market is up by a modest 50 or so points tomorrow, AAPL should rise to 707. If there's a 3-digit rally then 710 should be easy.

This week is turning out just fine, but it's prelude to weekend iPhone 5 launch mania and some good 'ol actual sales numbers. I might be in for some paper pain on Quad Witching Friday, but Jan 13 will hopefully give me the time I need to ride out something that shouldn't last more than a day or two. Always keeping an eye out for that pesky macro, but US markets held up well against the Euro markets. Of course, I'd love for AAPL to shatter the 700 call wall on Friday, even if only by a penny. Preferably by several dollars, so EOs give up early start running for cover long before Friday close.

Strong close to $701.91, great day.
RE the HK data center, I hope just as much as the rest of you for the iPhone 5 to be released on CHL quickly. Let's hope the HK data center date is simply a result of Apple planning ahead.

I am showing the close as 701.99 and .34c from the HOD. Has anyone else noticed that histogram on the MACD daily? Mmmmmmm, me like. In my caveman voice. It was nice of the DOW to finish green. The wind at our back would be great. good luck to all.

It's not the _greatest_ of "follow-through" based on the MACD-h (indicator, not predictor) yesterday, but it will do nicely. I'll have to consult the charts to see how some other timeframes look now. I imagine some volatility compression situations on shorter timeframes resolved to the upside.

The North Carolina data centre took about a year to construct.

Apple knows what it needs before it needs it. Tim Cook would have nothing less.
This is a future play, not a moment too soon. The Great Big Siri 1.0 Test in Asia (aside from Japan) begins tomorrow.

My only complaint was the volume and the net negative outflow of money. (It was small though for AAPL) I am surfing this puppy, hopefully I can get to shore before wiping out.
