Largest weekly gain since May 12 for no particular reason as far as I can tell, but I am certainly not complaining. Continuing the build up for what may be another example of Apple pushing yet another technology from research labs into common daily activities is The 5 Coolest Apple ARKit Projects So Far. In some ways, the one I find most interesting is perhaps the simplest, the AR tape measure. To me it is just another example of how the iPhone (and its imitators) is making various commonly used objects virtually obsolete because it is the "tool" that you always have with you. Regarding progress at Apple Park, the one thing I am still betting on, as well as worrying about, is that the introduction of the 10th anniversary iPhone MUST be done in the Steve Jobs Theater. I would not be surprised at all if the proceedings begin with a snippet of Steve introducing the original iPhone. It has been stunning to me as I read articles that enumerate all of the limitations of the original (320x480 screen, EDGE, no App Store, ...) to realize both how primitive it now seems and yet how far ahead of the pack it was.

Enjoying the beach. Now waiting for the next correction. Why? There's no reason to think the next move is down. We have resistance at 149 (SMA50). If we get through that, we'll see a test of the highs. Again, not a time to buy more, but not a time to sell either.

One is short term and shallow. 148-147 tomorrow or Tuesday will do. Then getting past 50 MA is a real possibility with a top of 154. Then earning will dictate in which direction we go. We dropped 9% or 14 points in June. There was no Apple news, but GS did the damage. I think we can see a repeat of that when WS realizes that tax reform is in real danger. That can happen in August, Sept, Oct or Nov. So always have cash. What I am waiting for confirmation is weather we are delayed with the iPhone. Guidance should give us a real clue.

I have been nervous about Apple for the past two quarters. NO one seems to be paying any attention to China and I think we have real problems there. If WEChat can commoditize phones in China, why can't that happen elsewhere? And if we lose the ecosystem, what justifies the price? Not to be a worrywart, but how does our second largest customer going away not merit some press?

Those who wanted cheap phones have them. Growth of 5-10% will continue as the middle class expands. I think the switchers will continue to grow over the next few years here and in Europe. India is still at least 7 years away from big growth.
