I hope no one died today at Walmart. No seriously, that's as pathetic as it is horribly tragic. Did I miss where someone got hurt? For the portion I viewed it looked like a food fight without the food. Mav, you DID laugh at Animal House didn't you?

The Commodore took my ( sorry....her) iPad mini to the family feast yesterday. Numerous pictures of this dissolute group were taken with iPhones ranging from 3GS to 5. Then devices were plugged in and wifi enabled. Photo streams shared. The new mini then became the viewing device de jour, handed around and enjoyed. a GREAT experience and easy and flawless. The Commodore believes she has now personally sold six other minis through her family and business contacts. She wants a dozen by Christmas. I think your wife is going to soon outrank you. Or am I clueless about Commodore status? You are clueless about both navel rank and how family dynamics work.....

Nice day. I think another strong Monday is in store for us. Hard to ignore that Apple products are the hottest gifts this holiday season.

Here's a great video to start the day and stoke the hopes for an Apple Christmas rally: www.bloomberg.com/video/what-do-6-to-12-year-olds-want-for-christmas-rufTTFM3SfS1oyd~HuRQMA.htmlWhy Kids Just Want Apple Products for Christmas... The video only makes a weak effort to address the "why," ... But I love her pronouncements that its going to be an "iChristmas" and "buy your spouse Apple stock and your kids Apple products." I disagree with their view that the costs are "outrageous." The products will be useful for several years, get better over the medium term (software upgrades), inspire some kids to lofty creations, etc. Also, the devices will do many things (like music/video/book creation) that 10 years ago would have cost 100 times more. These are NOT simply toys. These are some of the most powerful and useful tools ever created... A HUGE bargain. This is a golden age for Santa SJ'S mind bicycles. 2013 sees Apple once again DOUBLING the number of cylinders and still firing on all of them! Nice video. Yes..how soon we forget. Less than 3 years ago, the cost of the iPad was considered outrageously low as many people were expecting a starting price of $999+. Now, with dramatic improvements and no change to the price, it's considered outrageously high by many. That's what having a flood of no margin tablet competitors will do to perception.

FYI: Best Buy today selling $100 iTunes cards for $80 with free shipping (online). Limit 3. Not sure if they have the same deal in-store. I got mine. Thanks for the heads up. Just bought 2 and a couple of shares today both at a 20% discount (:

AAPL down to a week to meet the November 21.5" iMac date. I feel there is so much pent-up demand that when they are released they will sell out right away.

I think your wife is going to soon outrank you. Or am I clueless about Commodore status? You are clueless about both navel rank and how family dynamics work..... Navel rank? I didn't know navels were hierarchical. Are innies ranked below or above outies? Or are you talking oranges? Yes, the new iMac will sell out immediately. Look at the MBP Retina Display for a recent sales model. If you want one before Christmas, order in the first day. Or hour.

I had hoped that first hour to order was midnight, but apparently not. sigh.
perhaps they'll release it with the same announcement as the iTunes changes?
Nice close and we're even up 17 cents in AH...anything green looks so good .

And you , Prazan, just commissioned a new midship(wo)man in your fleet. See who starts giving orders in short order, and who obeys them....wisely. The new iMacs are spectacular. Agreed.

Hey JD, that a clean break out of the pain range? Yes, indeed. Hard not to see this as bullish sentiment, with those 565 and 570 call walls. Stk Calls Puts 545 2,803 6,777 550 8,278 13,130 555 6,465 11,386 560 9,615 8,927 565 10,216 4,672 570 10,304 2,300 575 8,560 950 $571.50580 8,101 941 We don't know where these all ended up, but the range going into today's session was 555-559.99. But about half of today's gain was in the last 45 minutes, so a lot of those 565 and 570 options had likely closed up before. I doubt a lot of the 570's paid off, since we breached 570 in the last 15 minutes. But we are still up almost $10 on the day, despite option headwinds, so yeah, a good thing.

Oh THAT.
Ok, I remember now. I should study the candles more than rely on the Stocks app. It didn't hold very long anyway. Today, the charts are sayin' something different.

A great article on why nobody should ever link or even mention Business Insider, or its proprietor, Lord Blodgetmort, on this forum: Wilfull Stupidity at Business InsiderBrian S Hall writes a blog you should all be reading, IMO. Insightful and funny.

Piling on: the majority of Motley Fool articles as shown in the Yahoo AAPL news headlines are click bait.
