Just a bit over a week left to withstand the FUD storm. It has certainly grown tiresome, but maybe some sort of reverse psychology effect can be helpful - if the results are only slightly disappointing, or even neutral, perhaps AAPL can stage at least a minor recovery. Both reasonable guidance and commentary from Tim can at least keep things on a even keel until anticipation of the new Fall releases begins. Of course, larger Market forces will also play their part. September seems very far away right now. Oh well, longs have been here before, and all you savvy traders out there should be able to benefit either way. Meanwhile... This man has the world’s largest collection of rare Apple computers is a fascinating stroll through the past. Not only are these old and rare, but they also reveal some of the intermediate steps in Apple product development. Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly building an insane ’16K’ VR headset I remain skeptical about all reports from "trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo," and note that even he says "Apple could remove the feature from all iPhone models" (emphasis mine). For you AR/VR enthusiasts, Apple is reportedly building an insane ’16K’ VR headset. This is not (yet?) an area of intense interest for me, so I welcome commentary from others more expert than I am. These are the times that try people's souls, or at least AAPL investors', and as always it's great to have AFB to commiserate with.

Hey Chinacat, this is the 2nd time this week I’ve read someone on the board imply that there’s an event beyond next week that we should be looking forward to. Are you not referring to the earnings report which is this coming Tuesday? Also re AR/VR, I can say as an “in the weeds” source, they are both amongst the type of tech which most people won’t understand their personal use case until it’s much more mainstream - just like telephones & personal computers in the past - but they will both be ubiquitous. AR will be more common, because of its ability to enhance real every day life, and VR will be prominent as a future form of entertainment. VRs strongest use cases haven’t been well realized yet, just as the personal computer in it’s earlier days.. It’s effectuvely a primitive predecessor to the holodeck. Please excuse if I’m sharing obvious info - I’m unaware of how familiar you are with the tech.

My two sons (45 & 48) have accepted senility as a perfectly resonable explanation for my actions for several years now. If fact, more frequently, they *suggest* it as an explanation.

Well folks, it's been a while since I commented here. I've been all cash since about Dec 1, 2017. Sold all my AAPL at $174 and have been waiting for the political situation to settle out. Capturing that $12 per share differential is looking inviting at this point, but I really don't have a clue what will happen Tuesday. I'm tempted to buy back in on Monday and just see what happens.
As some of you may remember, I bought the bulk of my AAPL originally in 2003 at an after split (14x) price of about $1 per share. That purchase has been life changing.

Hello dear AFB friends I made it to 20 consecutive Apple earnings previews. A modest personal accomplishment, but you know what? I feel pretty good about it. I wonder how much farther I can take that streak. Anyway, "enjoy". Direct link: apple.news/A0W4NrB3lQi2WcVW-dfUMdg

Regarding the future of VR, I think it will be huge. I was a gamer when I was in college. But as an adult I lost interest. Last fall I flew up to visit my son at college and check out his new Vive set up. After playing with it for the weekend, I was hooked. If I did not have to catch a flight the next morning and he had more games, I could have played all weekend.
The real life feeling of being in the game and interact with items that are 3D and moving around you, is an incredible experience. If Apple could come up with the system described in the article, it will be a huge hit. I still think we are about 5 years away for that technology however.
