A touch of green. 702 and some lucky pennies. Trading is good with 6.4 M shares.
This just in. Apple has now hit 36 Dell's.

Probably more revealing is that Apple's market cap is nearly equal to those of Microsoft, Intel, Google & Facebook combined.

And I don't know if this is the proper place to express it, but I think the new site is a huge improvement over "living in the basement" at TMO. We're even more active here and the application allows the admins the freedom to do a lot of good things. Another good thing that has come out of the dust up is that I was finally compelled to join the Braeburn Group. Certainly not as much fun, but the information is invaluable. Me too on the Braeburn thing. Quite a difference between these two places. Using a party/dance analogy, this place feels more like a rave with lots of frenetic activity. Braeburn feels more like a chaperoned, carefully supervised dance from the 1950's. Initial impressions of course. There is good stuff over there for sure though.

I know, I know iPad...but 700...is starting to look like support. Intriguing, considering.

If you guys really want a laugh, check out this load of B.S., front page on Marketwatch right now. They're reaching so desperately for any bearish take on AAPL that they are somehow comparing it to... Enron!?! That's Mark Hulbert trolling for attention. He's been "bearish" on AAPL for years, but without enough conviction to short it. Pathetic.

Having poured over most of the reviews of both iP5 and iOS 6 it's pretty clear the new Maps app is not yet the equal of Google Maps. The major shortcoming of the old Google-based Maps was the lack of turn-by-turn directions. The iOS 6 version fills that gap. It may not be on par with Google Maps yet, but something is better than nothing. Street view is another loss that may affect some people. We'll have to wait and see if the 3D maps can effectively match street view in the long run. Can one download the Google maps app still even if it isn't preloaded on the phone? I always have used the mapquest app on my iphone but they recently updated the app and I don't like it. Always hated the native maps app on iPhone so I never used it. What should I use going forward?

Another analogy would be the high school basketball team as opposed to the chess club. Lots of smart kids in the chess club.

We're not all basketball types on iPad's forum...
It remains to be seen who'll join us when earnings season rolls around in a couple weeks. We have some people from that other forum who have yet to post here.

I tried to private message someone over there that was asking where to find us. Received a "blacklisted" message. I assume that means they've removed my ability to private message anyone there. Can we all say "Bush league"?

It may not be on par with Google Maps yet, but something is better than nothing. Street view is another loss that may affect some people. We'll have to wait and see if the 3D maps can effectively match street view in the long run. All this uproar over how bad the new maps app is getting ridiculous. There is always an app for that as they say. If you can't get street view, I'm pretty sure Google will release an app for it. So we got the two biggest negatives for the new iPhone being maps and the new port. Big deal. People will always find something to bitch about and the media will always have sensational headlines like "new maps suck". Meanwhile we're sitting near ATHs. Btw, all the bitching over a $29 adapter, but no one is mentioning that you can just buy the entire usb to lightening cable for only $19 sans the outlet which most folks have already. I just ordered 4 of those. 2-3 weeks wait.

I don't see a standalone Google maps app in the store yet. I would ignore the overly negative reviews and just use the stock Map app in iOS 6. Dalrymple said it worked great for him.

We all roll our eyes at the events over there, suffice it to say.

apologies to all ... too much upgrade stuff in the brain last few days ...
I believe there's a new YouTube app to replace the version Apple removed from iOS 6 ... don't recall exactly but I seem to remember reading somewhere there was/will be new Maps app from Google ... checked in iTunes, no new Google Maps app just yet

trader, yep.
I do have a clock dock but I've made sure to get, say, a car charger with a USB port. So I can at least _try_ a $19 Lightning cable as a patch and then return it if it somehow doesn't provide power.
Of course more sophisticated adapter/docks will have issues but it's not what I'd call an intractable problem.
And if folks are REALLY steamed about it, Apple will address it. I'm sure they a backup plan ready to go In Case of Consumer Outrage.

Could be. iPad pointed out a rising wedge yesterday.
BUT, AAPL is holding over 700 all the while. Interesting dynamic.
