downtrend continues... Wake me up when this stock isn't trading like it is the worst performing large cap stock. It's just correcting a bit. End of next week we are well above 550.

Fiscal slope could really suppress the bulls though. Let's see AAPL "do some work" (as Redler might say) above 530 first before we dare to dream higher.
Don't forget, a "bad deal" or more can-kicking raises the specter of more credit downgrades. Confidence-rattling if nothing else.
Tough week to trade (aside from AAPL, yesterday).

Significant blowing and drifting snow will cause 2 to 4 foot snow drifts I'm glad we don't have drifting snow. It doesn't stay cold enough, luckily. I just picked up a Honda 1132 to add to the fleet, and am ready to try it out. But I also have to sell a couple (probably the craftsman 11.5HP and the Honda 828), as 5 blowers between 2 houses is too much. Come on AAPL, climb a little closer towards 530 for the close!

Expected close. I wish 525 would have come again before the close so we could see how it reacted. I'm thinking we'll hit in in PM tomorrow or maybe at the opening. A bounce off would be really good IMO. Should send us toward 550.
By the way, slowest thread day we've ever had?

Is it safe to say the media never fully gets it? Yes, it is: From Time: poy.time.com/2012/12/19/runner-up-tim-cook-the-technologist/The paragraph is mostly fine except for that "incremental" meme. Everything Apple has done since 1997 has been incremental. Apple has never invented a single product category (of course, software, custom hardware/design and multi-touch are pretty sweet). And the only reason for the "disruption" is because Apple built something people liked and liked to use in great numbers! People seem to think Apple's endgame is something on the order of reinventing every three years, world domination or certain doom. I say Apple can build quite the long-term empire on personal computing, ultraportable pocket computers masquerading as communication devices, and ultraportable mainstream computers (along with supporting software, services and third-party ecosystem). Fine, a side of TV/living room if you must, but that's hardly the scale of an iPhone or iPad, more like a multi-billion halo product line. So many still can't seem to dig a little deeper as to why Tim Cook was chosen as Steve's successor. In two years, it should be ludicrously clear.

Right.... how many revolutionary changes should Apple inflict on its 50 M iPhone customers this quarter ? Moreover, some changes require cooperation with some unwilling partners, technological challenges and legal hay: Samsung, Foxconn, Hollywood companies, US Department of Justice anti-trust division.

Not sweating it. Apple mimicked the indexes in general at the close. It's primarily running on macro news now. Many tax sellers have eclipsed their 30 days from selling and can now buy back avoiding a potential wash sale rule gotcha in the future and IMHO are trying to guess a 3 month low to get back in. As time moves on pressure mounts for them to come back in to be an owner at the largest earning announcement in Apple's history. Some will stay out but there is no surer bet out there when compared to AMZN, GOOG et al of a very positive announcement.

i bet if we didnt have this 200pt collapse, Tim Cook would be on that front cover. Oh well, reserve his spot for next year.

"Tentative rejections do not affect the enforceability of a patent claim" according to the article, however. This is the second big one in a row though.

Person of the year is laughable. What metrics do they use at Time? Believe me my comment is nothing about politics but everything about achievement, contribution and sacrifice. The girl who got shot in the face for showing up to school is more deserving IMHO.

Car audio is a mess. Has been for years. Now add on-the-go text, navigation, FM transmitters, aux cables, funky EQ settings, bluetooth telephony - gah!
Enter the iDash, a networked in-dash command center that unifies those features while making the roads safer. Primary interface is Siri who knows the voice of regular drivers and sets the car for each. Initial setup for existing cars done by Apple Store techs while you wait & shop. Factory option for new cars. Fix all the above problems, Apple. You'll get a two year refresh cycle going on the road.
