Remember AAPL stock has experienced a FULL quarter of crappage. As I typed the first part it jumped $3, WTH? could it be that tax selling ends today so new supply (sellers) could be capped? Can't hurt that there seems to be a kick the can deal in the works. Happy New Year!

Happy new year! almost 3% up =D I wanted to discuss my theory on the facts presented by the following article: www.nytimes.com/2012/12/27/business/signs-of-changes-taking-hold-in-electronics-factories-in-china.html?_r=0If Apple shifts the fabs' standards, then all electronics will have a higher labor cost. I first assumed this was bad news for Apple, because it'd diminish margins. Then I thought that while it might short-term, in a longer timeframe it will jeopardize Samsung even more, pushing them to increase their prices and therefore erasing their price advantage, which is the only reason they sell so many devices.

The SIII sell for the price of an iphone. You do not ever hear about it being over priced. Its retail price is $700. So nice to see green this morning. Sad part is my positions are so far underwater I do not know if I can make it to the surface. (that was not intentional, just came out that way )

I'm thinking the Intel TV news might have bigger implications for Apple. The beginning of a shift in the cable/content paradigm may be finally underway.....

It'll also make it harder for them to rip Apple off. I have been wailing for years about Apple being more involved in its production process. (Partnerships with dedicated fabs) The suppliers have gotten out of hand and if the rumor is true that Apple is going to build its own fab in NY or Oregon, then you will see component suppliers scramble for business. Who hurts worse, Apple building its owns parts and eats the increased labor cost, or the supplier who loses a significant portion of their business? Some of the suppliers are so small it would not affect Apple one bit to buy some of them out. I still think TI would be a good acquisition.

Great credit management! Agree, the credit bank is strong, no sense in using for 1 day or even 3-4 days. I hope Jan requires a lot of credits. i would think the numbers of views can be correlated with direction. We need millions of views and up. ;D

Any fiscal cliff prediction people?? No deal today. But both sides talking about how hard they are working and blaming the other side for nothing getting done when in all honesty, both sides probably want the cuts to happen. Obama can't cave on the cuts and the GOP has to stand strong on taxes. People need to realize that this really is a fight over a small amount of money. The only way we go back into a recession is if oil goes back up significantly. Housing has bottomed and is showing life and if the media would STFU, the market could take off. This in itself would create billions of dollars of tax revenue. AAPL is outperforming the market by a wide margin. This must hold.

520 would be constructive by end of day I think, though relative strength would be "good enough" just for the day.
Still waiting on 530 though. Been rangebound for a little while, though cautiously optimistic since the most recent "smooshie" resolved UP for a change.
Have done very little trading in December but hey - more time to enjoy the holidays.

Well if this just does not just pour cold water over today. video.cnbc.com/gallery/?play=1&video=3000137616Target for her is 431. Geeeeez. Her comments about going into a store and none of the associates wanting to sell the customers an iphone is startling. Apple has never paid sales people to sell the iphone like SS and the rest do. Apple needs to throw them a bone. This video just got me in a bad mood on a green day. Yech.
