I probably link to PED columns less than I should, likely because I assume most if not all AFBers are daily readers. However yesterday’s Gene Munster: ‘A product only Apple could pull off’ has a number of interesting comments (among many!). The inability to directly transfer data into financial management software is particularly lamented.

Turns out there was more to this story. From A very deep dive into iOS Exploit chains found in the wild: "We reported these issues to Apple with a 7-day deadline on 1 Feb 2019, which resulted in the out-of-band release of iOS 12.1.4 on 7 Feb 2019. We also shared the complete details with Apple, which were disclosed publicly on 7 Feb 2019."

Most of the news sites seem to be taking the holiday weekend off, but PED has This week’s Apple trading strategies (9/2-9/6). The comments are pretty positive, especially considering the tariff threat and what is generally viewed as a soft release year, waiting for the big move to 5G.

Yea, we’ll see but using slum lord dirty tricks and bullying pressure tactics are historically not a good strategy for getting people to agree, cooperate or come to your side. Xi realizes trump only has a few more months before he will have to cut and run while declaring victory. They come from humble beginnings and don’t mind taking a couple steps backward to achieve their goals or to prevent us from achieving ours. The world has changed and old ideas about what will work are sometimes just wishful thinking.

My fear is still the Chinese government taking punitive action against any U.S. companies, including Apple. They are effectively a dictatorship that has shown little indication of compassion towards their own people. They are instituting laws restricting travel based on social point systems, really, WTF. It appears to me that their government is only concerned with maintaining power. Hong Kong is an example, how much brutality will be use during to suppress the population.

I agree with you, a totalitarian governments biggest fear is the loss of power and having to deal with a revolt, whether it come from its own people or from within the party. And the only way to overcome a super power, such as the United States, is not militarily but economically. And we are very close to being there. I fear their plan is to undermine next years elections enough to force President Trump out of office. They are already releasing movies designed to do just that. There was once a time when the American people would recognize their meddling propaganda and it would backfire, but now there is so much hatred within our borders I fear their plan may work. These are dangerous times.

Just to make this a not totally political post... ....Mac360 has Apps Your iPhone And iPad Do Not Need. I have never had either one on any of my devices.

Well, you would have to have read the Mueller report to actually understand what happened during the 2016 campaign and election. Shep Smith of Fox News had it right when he said Russia did absolutely interfere in the US election.

The true investigation is just beginning, the investigation into the Mueller investigation. It’s all laid out in the report. It’s based on thousands of hours of investigation which revealed many facts about many people, some of whom are now in jail but if you want to believe in opinion pieces written on internet blog sites as if they were facts, Oh well. I’m still loving apple, even in the tough times the dividend softens the blow.

Maybe it’s time for me give up Nah! Just like everyone here, we learn what sets things off, on purpose or on accident. But we do learn from it. We need this time to figure that out, and figure out what we want or don't want on the board. The political cycle is nearing, and one person or group of people do not have the power to hold the floodgates back. Instead, it will be a group effort of deciding what we want or don't want to see here on the AAPL Finance Board.

That’s obvious if you read the transcripts of the senate hearings. The crooked Clinton lawyer Weismann and his merry band of leftist prosecutors fielded a report based on the false pretenses namely Trump/Russia collusion. From there the hope was that real intended actual obstruction could have been charged against the President. It was a trap, the same trap that others were indicted for not in any way connected to the President. Despite the President’s incidences against the hoax there was no actionable obstruction if you read the report with gleaning eyes. Let’s wait for the Barr/Durham reports. I’m sure they will have a honest assessment that both sides may have reservations about. But the predicate of the spying and subsequent investigation of the investigation perpetrators and who was involved in this sad chapter in US history may finally end.

nice trololol there
edit: i don't mean it kindly.... 'leftist prosecutors' is highest-grade trolling, no different than 'libtards' or 'trumptards' -- not to mention that this post had zero to do with apple... let's see how long it takes the neighborhood watch (4aapl) to move both posts into the dungeon, where they belong.

let's see how long it takes the neighborhood watch (4aapl) to move both posts into the dungeon, where they belong. I've got better things to do. While this is the weekend thread that we have stated we care a bit less about, this is still the AAPL Finance Board. And we are mostly self-moderated, so if you choose to post things where you know they don't belong, it's on you that you are choosing to make the board a worse place. Sure, I can move or delete your posts, and post and send reminders and nasty grams as long as I want. Or I can just get fed up with the crap and ban the user. I don't want to do that. But I also don't want to mop up after anyone who posts more off-topic stuff than on-topic. So it's your (all members here) choice. Are you a benefit to this board, or a negative. If you choose to be a negative, then like Walter's quote, ""Stay out of my territory"... "

And I am sorry about all this to begin with. I just came back here today for a look and what do you know the political discourse continues. But seems to be started again by the left component. I will stop but its hard to see the other side day in and day out get political because of their frustrations.
