Rep. Nugent says Boehner told membrs that if amendment didn't get 218 votes, he would personally vote yes on unamended Sen bill ~ just tweeted
Lastly - Chuck Todd over at NBC just tweeted: Right now, House GOP could put the Senate bill on floor for a vote as early as the 9pm hour.

Nasdaq 100 Futures up 74 points (2.86%) S&P 500 up 38.25 points (2.84%)
A 2% move up by AAPL = $10+ tomorrow.

US Futures aren't open. That's ^^ Monday's info. Even better. Monday up that much on the POSSIBILITY of a deaL, should result in even greener pastures WITH a deal.

The only thing I know for sure is that the market will do better if the House passes the bill than it will if it does not - green, flat or red it will be better. I am pretty sure it will be green, but.......
I have been opening positions the past two weeks (mostly non-AAPL, but have added to some AAPL positions) with the assumption that the outcome would what it is likely to be.

Catchup from US market Friday gains. That's one way to look at it. But I don't think we would see as much greeen now if the cliff deal was dead.

Markets will be green in response to the vote tonight but I'm wondering if they will be as positive as we all expected given what the exact deal is...and what is yet to come. Nonetheless, it DOES eliminate some uncertainty and gives somewhat more clarity...so we have that little bit going for us.

Up day Monday, hell, this might just be a sell the news, who knows. I won't be surprised if we get a gap and crap. But I do know that passing this POS is better than not.

Well -- not sure if it will be sell the news...no one said that things can't be negotiated and settled one at a time. Maybe the task of getting a large deal done was too overwhelming for them...who knows. To be honest --there will be a bit of a shift in seats when the 113th Congress comes in and the dynamic may be somewhat different. For now, I will wait for the white smoke to appear from the Capitol and will declare, "Habemus Papum!"....and hope for a green Wednesday...Thursday...and maybe even Friday

I thought that was the vote for the resolution. I guess not. Must be something else then.

It will pass. That remains my prediction It looks like the GOP leadership made it clear to the Tea Party folks that they will need their help to stay in office. They decided that campaign assistance is more important then this vote. Oh Well. Now we should keep the gravy train going tomorrow. I would like to see us more up another 25 point tomorrow. ;D

But He was able to persuade them that he would bring it to a vote despite not having full majority of his own party on it. That means that they will also vote him back in as Speaker.

Sounds like the band aid bill will pass...did a quick check on the C-SPAN radio app and heard notes of "optimism" from our elected blowhards representatives on both sides. If that's the case, I guess the markets won't have to worry too much about Congress and the debt ceiling for the next...three weeks or so? Let's see AAPL roast some bears tomorrow.

Nah. <30 days I say, considering the punt is only good for 60 yards, I mean days. Looking forward to another last-minute and maybe a little extra Congressional brawl. At least Apple should be able to announce earnings without too much debt ceiling interference.

We do not know yet if the Speaker will have the majority of his party for it. We will know after the vote.
I do not know what a "full" majority is. I do know what a majority is.

At least Apple should be able to announce earnings without too much debt ceiling interference. I think these self imposed deadlines will start to lose their dramatic effect. The public and the market are starting to wise up and realize the media is fanning the flames for their own benefit. I believe this is why the markets didn't react too violently yesterday.
