MacRumors reviews the Samsung Fold. I have to admit it is intriguing and I can see Apple going into that direction as well.
The only issue that I see with the phone is that it is too small and too thick when folded. The screen is impressive when unfolded out.
The only two reasons I see why Apple is not in a hurry to developer one anytime soon, is that present technology is not there for a thinner version and it will hurt iPad sales.

It also breaks down and turns into crap after you’ve used it for a while. Otherwise, no problems. If Apple ever shipped an expensive piece of garbage like this, you (and the rest of the tech world) would be all over them; blame it on Tim Cook; and insist the company had jumped the shark and was on their way out of business. Repeat, the Fold is a fragile piece of garbage. Let’s see how many they ship before they shitcan it again, likely this time for good. Don’t forget now: - Apple products get put through the YouTube ringer of being bent out of shape by strong forearms/wrists, bulging eyes and spurting sweat. Or fat posteriors slamming down on them. We already know from early reviews of the desperately patched Fold that it breaks down under normal use. Waiting now to see what YouTubers like these can do to it. If they bother to try. Because only Apple products are called out for being indestructible. - Same comment for other deliberate mistreatment of new iPhones in previous generations. Let’s see how a Samsung Fold and it’s flimsy parts, plastic (not glass) screen etc hold up.
