Deutsche Bank? This bank is so tainted the stain will never go away. Its Apple coverage has been pretty terrible over the years, apart from its other problems.

It's been about a month since getting my iPhone 11, so I wanted to share a few notes.
I received it the day before a family trip. Switching over from my old iPhone 5S worked, but had a few small hiccups. I choose to transfer straight from the old one, which started working once I turned on bluetooth, though it failed the first time. The second time worked fine.
Overseas, we had it in airplane mode, putting a new sim into my wife's phone. Twice airplane mode turned off. It might automatically do that after a week.
The pictures are great. Night time pics are wonderful in most cases, getting things like the Pantheon at 9pm with no tripod. But there are occasional faults. Turning 180° to get a picture down the road with the Eiffel tower in the background, it put a second row of street lights into the sky. This is likely from merging multiple pictures, either from the other lens or from previous/post frames.
Similarly, the extra wide angle lens gives some great pictures, but there are some slight drawbacks. There were many cathedrals where it worked great to grab a larger view of the internals. When taking a shot aimed up a dot or something showed what straight up was, which helped. There is some distortion at the edges, which doesn't show much in that situation but is limited when aimed straight up. OTOH, I have a picture of the kids in front of the Eiffel tower where it stretched their legs, making them look like some strange basketball star. Just something to watch for when taking the pic.
Live pics are turned on by default. I'm not sold on them yet.
I didn't know the limitations on panorama pictures until trying to take close to a full 360° of stained glass in a church there. It stops at maybe 240°. Not a iPhone 11 problem, but I hadn't hit that before. As an aside, I also hadn't used an Android much, but when asked to take a pic in landscape mode of some people at a small beer garden in Austria, an extra white button appeared within the frame, and thus covering someone's face. Strange. So strange that I even asked someone about it the next time, and was told it just was an extra button you could use. I'm glad the iPhone doesn't do that.
Face-ID did well, but there were times where I didn't want that to turn it on, mainly when waking up at 2am and using it as a light, or not, so as to not wake everyone. That's an edge case, and there are setting. The flashlight is very bright, possibly even too bright most of the time. One problem I have had is that Face-ID isn't happy most of the time if the phone is upside down, and this happens fairly often. On initial glance or feel, it's harder to notice the proper orientation.
I set up Apple-Pay and used it for the first time overseas. It was easy, with non-contact credit card systems everywhere.
Battery life is amazing. I couldn't tell this as much on the trip since I was only using it to take pictures, but once back home we've had some 6 hour Strava sessions when scoping out a trail, and the battery is only down a little bit. Normally hitting the GPS this much would spin through the battery quickly, at least on a 5S with a new battery. We've also had some phone calls over an hour, and the battery usage is minimal. It's just surprising to come back from a day of normal use, and see it in the high 80% to low 90% range.
It's a great phone and I've enjoyed it. If anyone has specific questions, let me know. We mostly didn't need a zoom, but there were a few times where we did, and I'm sure the Pro's zoom lens would help. But most of the time, the combo of the wide (80+% of the time) and extra wide lens worked well and was what we wanted.

Investopedia has Can Apple Stock Hold New Highs?. They cover all of the highs and lows for the past year and with caveats predict a positive outlook “Apple stock should hold new highs in the coming months, barring a final breakdown in U.S.-China trade talk negotiations.” A pretty good for review for new AAPL investors, but Board members likely know all this.

On a recent Gruber podcast (#264), he and Joanna Stern did an extensive coverage of the new cameras. He also said that Tim Cook told him that Apple was now the best camera company in the world. Now that software is part of the game, that is certainly a place where Apple can make strong contributions, although your experience does indicate there may be some bugs to clean up. I am a rank amateur in this area, so I do not claim to be able to make worthwhile evaluations.

Now that software is part of the game, that is certainly a place where Apple can make strong contributions, although your experience does indicate there may be some bugs to clean up. I am a rank amateur in this area, so I do not claim to be able to make worthwhile evaluations. I just checked out some of my pictures, and their corresponding videos from live photos. While it might be something that can be cleaned up in software, thinking about it further I'm betting it's an optics issue in low light situations, with light bouncing around a bit more just like through a double paned window, especially at night. Likewise, while some night pictures were pretty good, some others with brighter lights in the background weren't as good. If everything were perfect, what would there be to strive for in the future? There is one more strange thing that I forgot. On videos and live on the screen, shots of lights on a dimmer (presumably) show them strobing. The first time I saw this, it looked very strange, having an office room in the background strobing. I compared it to our iPhone 8+, and on there the issue wasn't seen. It wasn't a big deal, but an oddity that I noticed. Another place that had this was a carousel right next to the Eiffel tower, and I see now that the picture turned out fine, but the "live photo" video shows it strobing. I presume this is as camera sensors get better and better, they get quicker and have sync issues just like taking videos of a CRT TV or monitor. By and large things were great. But there are a couple quirks here and there.

Antitrust chatter not helping tech... 📉 Others are down more than AAPL, now. I thought AAPL's easing was due to Netflix selling $2.2B of bonds to create more content to compete. The question in my mind is if this is the top for a while for AAPL, or if it will keep on climbing. A big part of that depends on earnings and outlook, but it helps that the S&P is also near it's high, both from a year ago. I'm looking at selling a few shares, mainly for tax purposes to help spread things out. I like to think AAPL is going to keep climbing for the next 12-18 months, assuming good iPhone sales now, another surge in 11 months on the new model, and services continuing to increase. But that would be the reason to hold on to 90% of the shares, and just easing off a little just as a backup and giving some flexibility. After all, we know there are plenty of non-Apple items that move the stock, and that in general the run up to a presidential election tends to not have the markets perform as well, due to rising uncertainty (Fisher has studied this too, even if some of his recent remarks aren't PC)

Not the biggest news event re: Apple but I totally forgot they are bringing Isaac Asimov's Foundation trilogy to AppleTV+. One of my all time favorite Sci-Fi pieces and they've begun casting. "Isaac Asimov's novel series of the same name, Foundation chronicles the epic saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it." www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/jared-harris-lee-pace-star-apples-foundation-1249198
