good morning longs! Yep, the AirPods story is kind of huge in terms of the future of the the growth curve, and how it will affect overall earnings vs. a relatively stable/mature iPhone market - I think the market is really seeing two things - one excitement on the next iPhone cycle (5g) and the very impressive double growth percentages in wearables, services - perfect storm for both higher earnings, and it would appear a higher multiple.

Cult of Mac has Why the 5G iPhone might slow Apple’s sales next year. Unfortunately, most folks do not follow tech as closely as the denizens of AFB, and the deployment outside of metropolitan areas, particularly for mmWave, may leave many wondering why they spent their money for the upgrade.

"I believe that Apple is one of the best plays in 5G. It's going to start in a couple of years." OK, yeah, but if we're going to cherry-pick quotes, Gene also said [AAPL] "to the 400's and beyond." 📈 To be Captain Obvious, an ATH close on a Friday would be very bullish.

OK, yeah, but if we're going to cherry-pick quotes, Gene also said [AAPL] "to the 400's and beyond." 📈 The point is, there are lots of articles pumping up the availability of 5G phones in the Fall, but unfortunately the infrastructure support throughout the country is liable to be quite spotty, which could leave many folks regretting the money they shelled out for their shiny new 5G phones, from Apple or otherwise. Love your new avatar though, JD. It’s hard to remember a streak of ATH AAPL prices like the current run. 😍

I’ve made this rollout point several times here. But Apple must choose between “OMG Apple doesn’t have a 5G phone like Samsung” and “OMG 5G is just a marketing scam there aren’t any 5G towers yet!” Tim should and will just man up and make a decision, damn the torpedos, full steam ahead, because, as it turns out, haters are gonna hate no matter wtf Apple does. 🤷🏻♂️ Obviously Apple needs to innovate beyond 5G. I think Apple’s greatest value going forward is the 1.5B installed base, a little salesman for services and wearables in your pocket. What company on earth isn’t jealous of being in all those pockets (even the 2.5B Android phones living in poor people’s pockets)? So keep rolling out those services and wearables and iPhone accoutrements, and in the mean time, buy up any possible existential threats like computer display contact lenses. Cheers to the longs 🍻.

I hope 4aapl and family are safe and sound Thanks. While we were out skiing today, we were skiing on our smaller mountain, enjoying the fresh 15" of powder. Even with the upper mountain lift not working, the worst line was about 8 minutes, and we managed to find fresh snow all day long. When our buddy asked the girls where they wanted to ski, he loved my daughter's reply of "I don't care, as long as it's powder". The kids were on a 2 hour delay, so we took them with us, then extended it to their lunch time, and then after running into a friend and his daughter we just made it an all day event. Ski school, it's a thing. Add in a parking spot 50 feet from the lift, and AAPL hitting a new ATH right at close. It was a pretty good day all around.

Now that is hyperbole. It is hard to argue that FB is not a dangerous company that influenced the last election in a manner that was inappropriate. You could call it treason. And when you think of Brazil and Burma...this is lots different that Apple and GOOG. Regulators need to be thorough and make sure these companies stay out of politics. In fact making it a crime for corporations to participate in politics-like it used to be-is as good as putting in the Glass Steagall act again. There is a lot crazy thinking on this board-like saying Apple is hamstrung by regulations-a company on its way to being the first 2 trillion dollar entity. Companies hamstrung struggle to stay in business not ride with 40-80 percent profit like Microsoft and Apple. As long as the 1% control things, no one is going to break up anything. This is for show.
