Here is a vieo that I think everyone invested in Apple needs to see. It concerns a long term risk that no one is talking about. I am not trying to be alarmist, but I think it is important to be informed www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwyDCHf5iCYIt's a little long, but worth it.

I thought she addressed those studies well in the presentation. It is difficult research to do because it is hard to control all the variables. It is especially hard to do concerning brain cancers where the effects are delayed. I suspect we will see a lot of studies that claim to have found no connections but without reading the studies, it is hard to evaluate the science. I thought her presentation was compelling and wanted the issue on everyone's radar screen at least. It reminds me of the early days of the discussions about whether cigarette smoke causes cancer or for that matter, global warming. I am not here to convince anyone, just to point out that the issue may eventually affect our stock

It reminds me of the early days of the discussions about whether cigarette smoke causes cancer . Not sure if this is a great example. People where aware of the smoking risks in the 1920's. Scientific studies began in '30s. It just took a long time before public sentiment, in the US, took over. Not sure if we will ever experience that kind of negative sentiment against cell phones.

....the book is from 2010
i mean sure maybe it's a risk.... like china throwing apple out is also a risk; antitrust in the us is a risk; global thermonuclear war is a risk.... all of these would be existential risks to apple's business...
considering there's so little scientific discourse on it (in mainstream science) i just wouldn't worry about it as "the" risk to worry about.... π€·ββοΈ a good old-fashioned recession on the horizon worries me more tbh

In this case, this is where that big pile of cash that Apple has is a dangerous thing. Iβm confident that there are plenty of law firms just waiting for the chance to file a class action case against big bad Apple. Everyone with an iPhone and a headache would be lining up for a check. Just a thought.

Name one class action suit that materially mattered to a multinational corporation? They make the rules. These things are for lunch dates between attorneys at firms that are on parallel paths.

Not sure if we will ever experience that kind of negative sentiment against cell phones. Yeah. Cigarette smoking has dubious benefits other "looking cool" (manufactured by advertising) and feeding your addiction. Cell-phones have many undeniable benefits. Some are even life saving, which can counterbalance some generic risk.

Cigarette smoking has dubious benefits other "looking cool" (manufactured by advertising) and feeding your addiction. Actually it (nicotine) has many benefits one of which is tying memory cells together in your brain that may or may not have been tied together without it. I'm not suggesting that anyone take up smoking but I'm fearful that the witch hunt and bad science that took it down will have some undesirable consequences along the way. Would the semiconductor have been invented without it? Maybe...,maybe not. How do it know? Regardless, if you haven't ever watched this history lesson you're in for a treat. Best piece I've ever watched about the history of Silicon Valley and its pioneers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcOoQP7nhl4&t=16s
