It states directly that there were "lower than expected iPhone 5 sales" due to the maps issue. Really....lower than whose expectations? Would Samsung know iPhone sales due to being a supplier or is the chip they supply also provided by another supplier? Most of the quotes in the article are pure conjecture by analysts - Samsung released zero information on phones, neither its own or apples. Samsung does know the amount of A6 chips being delivered to apple (Since its the sole supplier IIRC) - but it doesn't know where those chips ended up - So Samsung can only really estimate maximum amounts of iPhones.

I'm going to bed, but first, wanted to post...
IMHO, WAG, etc.etc.:
All this chopping around between 500-555 is analogous to the chopping around we did between 650-705. That was topping; this is bottoming. The charts are showing the same crowd psychology playing out.
Bulls thought (then) we were going to the moon; bears think (now) we're circling the drain. But (waning) momentum's foreshadowing the tide turning. It's the beginning of the end for the recent victors' winning streak.

My bad for not reading in detail. I thought it was Samsung that made the comment about iPhone sales. I'm sure they are under a non-disclosure agreement anyway.

Agreed, iPad! Until the theory is disproven anyway.

Roll Tide, impressive team. One thing that also is impressive is the 4.0 GPA that the center for Bama has. One impressive young man. Just had to throw that out there.

Just remember the next time we hit 700: take some profits. Just like I did last time . . .

I thought the tax selling caused aapl share price to go down the last 2 months. I don't think so now as aapl is still not moving up much. At this time, I believe aapl went down due to Oct. ER. I hope Jan ER will move aapl up. Jesus H, do you ever post anything other than FUD and worry and despair? You make me want to BOT LLY (Prosac).

AAPL was at .98:1 when it went into September's tailspin. I'm tempted to take a Put Spread flyer on AMZN for April. Read this today: "A new report from financial services and research firm MacQuarie Capital estimates that Amazon Web Services will earn $19.3 billion in profit this year on $79.4 billion in revenue, growing to $30 billion in profit on $124 billion in revenue by 2015." EDIT: Source was theverge.com article - WHICH WAS COMPLETE BULLSHIT. remind me to NEVER trust any financial news from them again. AMZN lost $274 million last quarter.
