Wait so according to the press release, 40billion have been download with half that in 2012. Meaning nearly another 20billion has been downloaded in just the first week of January 2013 alone??? Am I reading that right? Omg that is insane if true. Other half was downloaded before 2012, not in 2013. Duh, ok it's too early in the morning..

Just criminal. Amazon up $7 with a 7 cents per share EPS. Primed for and trading beyond perfection.

"AppleĀ® today announced that customers have downloaded over 40 billion apps*, with nearly 20 billion in 2012 alone. The App Store℠ has over 500 million active accounts and had a record-breaking December with over two billion downloads during the month." Doesn't sound like there was a huge increase in app downloads over the holidays if 20 billion downloaded for the year and only 2 billion (10%) in December. Am I missing something? A quick calculation aobut 18 billion over 11 months is 1.636/month. Then 2 billion would be about a 22.2% increase in the month of December.

It is astonishing that Apple now has credit card information for more than 500 million people. I've never understood this. You don't have to put a CC in until you purchase something. I just went through this with creating an account for my mom two months ago. I was confused because everyone here always touts that each account is backed by a CC. Just rolled my Jan 550/560 into Jan Wk 4 550/560, so that I can hope for an earnings pop. I won't be touching these anymore, except to maybe add a few more if we are within reasonable reach on Monday before earnings. You know when iPad says play on paper before you do it for real when beginning to trade options? It's because you'll quickly learn to SELL when you're sitting on >90% of max value. It's amazing that all of the spreads I've opened in the past two months have been a decent amount of green at some point, and are now all bloody red. No more home runs for me. Only singles. I'll gladly take a 30% profit on a two day trade.

It is astonishing that Apple now has credit card information for more than 500 million accounts. And I can promise there are people running that number to try and come up with a forecast. It is steady growth, need another data point. Apple has a lot of repeat customers, so it skews the data. I have been very sick all weekend. Feeling really bad today, market is crap and I fear ND is going to win tonight. Somebody just shoot me and put me out of my misery.

Apple has grown its EPS from 15.15 for the Calendar year in 2010 and to now has an EPS of 44.16 during calendar year of 2012. That is an incredible 191.5% increase in EPS. The stock since the end of calendar year in 2010 is up only 61% (ie avg of 30.5% per year). That is a massive under performance of stock to company. It is safe to say AAPL could be close to the worst performing stock in relation to company performance of all the large cap stocks. 130% of growth has been lost due to compression in just 2 years.

I have been digging and all I could come up with was the 400 million IOS devices sold at the end of June. I got that from the iphone introduction video. I know there is a CC data point out there, but I just can't find it. 500 million is a big number that really blows me away when you have to figure the number of devices liked to the same CC. Man I hate feeling sick.

i thought we would break 522 there and take off, but alas not yet it seems. I sold some FB shares to free up cash and got filled on a few jan 14 spreads while around 517. debated waiting till after earnings, but for jan 14 spreads, i dont think they could get hurt too much unless, well, shenanigans continue.
i think Bama will slaughter, but I'm hoping ND keeps it close. I'd be very impressed seeing ND win. Most think the SEC is on another level, so we shall see!

Just hit within pennies of my EW retrace target (524.30). Now if we can just get a flippin bounce in this area... Picked up 100 JanWk2 $510/$515 at $3.15 (AAPL @ $516.68). At the time that was LOD on its way to $515.20. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Had I placed my order at $3.05 I'd likely have got them. I'm now looking for $530 as a breakout number.

Man I hate feeling sick. The figures I have just read on Twitter are that Apple stated 410 million cumulative iOS devices in June and 44 million in September. Haven't had the chance to check that data yet. Horace has calculated 558 million iOS devices (he is including the Apple TV running iOS).

I think the game will either be a slaughter from Alabama or ND will win nicely not close. One of these teams will have to fall apart and the other will take advantage of any weakness - WAG - Go Irish. (Notice: I am the only ND fan here....hmmm...I like being an underdog!)

Interesting ;-) AMZN Put Volume: 28,872 contracts Call Volume: 29,302 contracts Put/Call Ratio: 0.99 Read into that what you will. First time I've looked at all three. AAPL was at .98:1 when it went into September's tailspin. I'm tempted to take a Put Spread flyer on AMZN for April.
