The S&P was down a little and AAPL was up a little at open. And then the Fed made an emergency rate cute due to the CoronavirusBoth are in the green by just a little now, though AAPL just dipped in the red for a quick blip. Today we'll see how the market deals with the new US deaths from the coronavirus, the voting outcome, and now the rate cut. Careful out there. It's likely to be choppy. (EDIT: And sure enough, it is a bit choppy, with a CNN article saying the market doesn't know what to do about the rate cut. IMO that's like my sister saying years ago that her kids had never had a hot dog and wouldn't know what to do with one. But, it does get people thinking of if the government or FED knows stuff they haven't yet released, or if this cut is due to what's known thus far. OTOH, it's the same thing that AAPL has been dealing with for weeks, it's just that Apple was proactive with its warning. The Coronavirus thread in the Dungeon has links and info. If there's interest in a thread on Super Tuesday, that's probably a good place for it too)

2-3 weeks ago I felt Apple should announce once things were back and rolling again, but didn't really feel they would. Now, with the overall population mindset much different than it was then, I really think Apple should do that. It would be a big psychological aid, that even in a place struck the hardest initially by this virus, that production is back to 80% or 100% or whatnot. And sure, there's the side benefit of it saying that Apple is going to be ok too. It shouldn't be necessary, as it seems this whole thing is much more overblown than it should be, even separating out most of the market gyrations as something that would happen anyway and this was just the catalyst that made it happen. But just like Sheldon, sometimes the masses need a seemingly sympathetic "There there, there there".

JD, I'm going to repost this link in the The Dungeon under the "Trade with China" thread, along with all of the other reasons to exit China. I'm guessing it's all because of the little screws and the big profits.
