That's only if iPhone 5 is or can be easily made compatible with China Mobile's network. Also depends on if the TD-LTE network is really ready for prime time in at least some major markets. Oh, wow, if only Apple had thought of that earlier.

Oh, wow, if only Apple had thought of that earlier. With Cook in China now, a China Mobile announcement would be sweet. "During the visit, Cook said Apple's stores in China are the company's busiest in the world. That China Mobile AAPL shareholder value will unlock sometime. And when it does, it'll be awesome.
Might be a 2014 thing though, we'll see if the competition hints with TD-LTE Android/etc. devices.

I just saw the video clip of Ballmer running onstage at CES, courtesy of The Verge. The appearance of Big Bird was a clever ruse meant to distract viewers from noticing that Balmer is really Barney the Dinosaur. Attachments:

I know there has been talks about a cheaper iPhone and my initial reaction was this must mean lower margins. I think there is a broader picture here, apple is trying to drive revenue into the apple ecosystem. More people using the App Store and iTunes the more of a halo effect apple creates around their other products.

About the WSJ article on a cheaper iPhone:
Hmm. Not from Paczkowski or someone else from the AllThingsD team? Lower-tier WSJ article, then.
Troll/idiot meme alert for "[Apple's] supremacy in smartphones has slipped." Won't bother posting the link, it's easy enough to find.

Whatcha think iPad? I say building a base. Not trading right now, but constructive! As long as that base stays above 515. If we see yet another lower low, I go back into "utterly disgusted" mode. (I will require salted snacks...anything made by Frito Lay.)

Isn't there a point where you just call a spade a spade - "strong support"? Sure a 515 retest would be annoying as hell but the real point of danger is 500ish. Not sure 515 can actually be considered as a downtrend low in the context of 505-whatever it was and 501ish.
If a stock consolidates in a support zone, is it necessarily threatening to fall through the floor at any time? I'd be more worried if 500 was under constant, sharp assault. Not seeing that right now.

OMG! If you get a kick out of truly awful keynotes, the Qualcomm CES keynote fits the damn bill! One YouTube link I found: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcRLbcbW5rkVerge meta-review of Qualcomm CES is a hoot. And people wonder why Apple seeks as much vertical integration as it can get. ;D this is amazing. i cringed during the video haha

Not everyone gets a kick out of truly awful keynotes. BORN MOBILE! And Big Bird! Ah, to think of the e-mail that Steve might've send to Qualcomm's CEO after this travesty of a presentation. Did they even have alcohol on tap the way the Surface keynote did?
