Well, some things never change... Huawei caught cheating (lying) for the third time in four years in photography contests or photo ads. appleinsider.com/articles/20/04/20/huawei-caught-using-dslr-photos-to-promote-its-photography-contest"The photos in question were discovered by Huapeng Zhao, who had won second place in the 2018 iPhone Photography awards for a photograph he'd taken with an iPhone 6. He'd recognized the promotional photos from elsewhere, suspecting that the images weren't shot with a smartphone. As it turns out, he was correct. The photos were the work of Su Tie, and had been previously shared on 500px, an online photography sharing platform. The pictures in question had been taken with a Nikon D850 —a DSLR that costs upwards of $3,000."Hang in there, everybody.

He also said I guess I see it the other way, and in a way similar to dealing with the pandemic, that if buying an Apple Watch is the only thing someone can do to give them a better chance of getting help when some as-yet unknown villain takes them down, then it's a small price to pay. The only hurdles are the relatively small cost, and realizing that it could happen to you. My neighbor had a stroke, fell down a flight of stairs, and laid there partially alive, likely for more than 12 hours until someone went to his house to check on him. He died 2 days later. Maybe an Apple watch wouldn't have helped. But, if he wasn't fully out of it from the initial fall, laying there for likely more than half a day wouldn't have been pleasant. As Apple adds even more to the watch, it will be easier and easier to see its value and justify its cost.

Our family once rented a place in Puerto Vallarta. The owners were a couple, with the husband holding the top job at a very large global manufacturing company. They built their dream place which is what we rented. Shortly before it was completed, he fell down some stairs. He was there for over 12 hours with no one knowing. He lived, but was brain damaged. Again, who knows if the outcome would have been different if he was wearing an Apple Watch, but he certainly would not have been alone all that time.
I think that at some point in the future, the fact that we don't have real-time information about what is going on inside our bodies will be seen as primitive. I expect that the Watch is just the very beginning of a wearables revolution that will have health as one of the primary drivers. The addressable market is likely just as large as for phones, and perhaps even more valuable. This belief is one of the reasons that I continue to hold Apple long term. I don't see any other company as well positioned to lead here.

ZOUNDS! MAY OIL $4.30/ BARREL.............. Yahoo is showing $0.72/barrel at the moment. Anyone have a swimming pool? I think our small pond would only hold 20 barrels or so. Any refinery or place with storage should be buying, as long as the transportation and storage costs are feasible. Crazy times

Apple booster Gene Munster has on his LOUPVENTURES site Land with iPhone SE, Expand into Wearables & Services. Gene is one of the pundits who understands that the iPhone, while still the bellwether product, is perhaps more important now as the entry point into the Apple world of services and other products.

Warren Buffet and Charley Munger should fill all of their OIL TANKERS ON THEIR BNF TRAINS And how much oil does each carload hold? Crude oil typically travels in cars called DOT-111s. Each car carries roughly 30,000 gallons of crude oil.

Holding costs? Transportation costs? The decline in oil demand has been so swift that there is no place to put the oil that has already been pumped. Tankers are stuck with full loads. The government-imposed shutdown continues to cause massive disruptions. The big question that remains is how will the world function once the shutdowns are lifted. Will the population be willing to board a crowded plane? attend a stadium event? Most businesses are designed around high-density. What level of density will people accept moving forward? I'm a partner in a Co-Working Space. We are not even sure if people will return when the quarantines are lifted or what the conditions will be to allow them work again. We were looking to open a new location but with density concerns, we are not sure that we can make the economics work.

On oil one has to assume the Saudis see the windmills and see the solar panels. They are pumping everything they can to sell all they have and put higher margin producers out of business. Commonsense.

Futures are a different beast, whether oil, orange, or hog. It's like watching the vix. You know someone is making money off of it, but it's different enough that it keeps out most newcomers. You might not be ready to take delivery of a physical object, especially in quantity. I buy my oil 5 quarts at a time, or 20 gallons, so a 100k barrel investment turning into a delivery would be tough unless bringing refineries back online (2 ones by Marathon in the SF Bay Area are being temporarily shut). OTOH, the coming months may be a good time to get a new asphalt driveway put in. Whether it rolls over enough into concrete pavers (high energy needs) is a different story. Maybe there will be an uptick in RV ulitilization this summer, with wanting to get away, and gas prices cut drastically.

I assume it means you pay up or take delivery. at least it isn't pork bellies. If you can find a place to store it, maybe you can sell it later in the summer.
