What Tim Cook is exhibiting successfully to corporate America is that he is an ethical CEO. Tim Cook’s ethical values have inculcated into the fabric of Apple, Inc. which goes a long way toward enhanced marketing image of Apple and all things Apple. This is an awakening to corporate America whose CEOs now see the necessity of striving to do a similar ethical transformation for their companies. Few will succeed in this noble endeavor, though, as Apple has done under Tim Cook. Tim might be focusing things more in this area, or we might just be seeing it more since there is slightly less focus on other things. But, even back when SJ was the head of Apple, Apple had at least some focus on ethical values. OTOH, it's a lot easier to focus big on ethical values, and have it picked up in the press and beyond, once you're well out of the struggling to survive state, or that term we all have heard in the distant past, beleaguered. I think Apple has done a great job in the US, while like most tech companies also trying to convince their employees to work even more. 80 hours a week and loving it. Or was that 90? If you're the underdog, there's an added incentive. But, once they became large enough, they had the leverage to get third party manufactures to improve their ethical values too, and that is the real game changer. Tim is doing a great job at it, but I believe SJ would too, as would most people who've been at Apple a long time and understand the company values. Nice to see AAPL up again today. It can't climb every day, and the RSI is approaching 70, but it's nice to see as things continue to move forward.

I have faith that the Track and Trace iPhone App will work fine for what it does, but what about the integrity tests themselves. So I did some looking into this question and came across this. It's the Tanzanian President John Magufuli commenting on the integrity of the covid 19 tests. He's a former research scientist himself. www.youtube.com/watch?v=357B7hfw-lsIt's in Swahealy with English subtitles. It's both scandalous and funny, but in an unintentional way. Thoughts?

It bugged me every time the subtitles said "Jackfruit (Durian)". Durians are the ones with the "don't open on a plane" signs. They are spiky. Like many things, you might be able to get it at more places now, but 10-15 years ago that was one of the specialty type things you might be able to get at a place like the Berkley Bowl. Jackfruit are a different beast, and taste just like Juicy Fruit gum. A Thai friend shared one with us a few years ago, and now we get one when Raleys gets 8 in once or twice a year. As a bumpy thing the size of a large watermelon, people ask what that odd thing in your cart is. They probably sell out within an hour, once people head to the produce manager. geartrench.com/jackfruit-vs-durian/As for the main topic, I guess they have extra testing capacity if they can test fruit and goats. It seems like they have a contamination problem. I'd say that couldn't happen here, but that's the basis of the CDC tests being screwed up. It's easy to armchair quarterback in retrospect, just as it's easy to say you don't need a QA Engineer testing your stuff. But then you see mistakes that could have been caught make for big problems. In the US I don't think we're testing goats and fruit. OTOH, we tested lions at a zoo, so it's not all clearcut. Just as a Jackfruit vs a Durian, for someone who has never seen either. (EDIT: Meant to add that people do strange things when there is fear and lack of info. We see that here in the US too, on all sides, especially when looking in retrospect. Many thoughts and opinions look silly once more info is known, and that's true this time around too.)

OK, he may be a Jesus Freak, but let's leave Jesus outta this for a minute, and concentrate on the data. So, you're saying that this guy is lieing about the results of these submitted tests? And where's your source for that?

OK, he may be a Jesus Freak, but let's leave Jesus outta this for a minute, and concentrate on the data. Wait...a Youtube video of a country's president, who most of us have never heard of before, talking about submitting fake samples to the coronavirus testing in Tanzania is *data* to you? I was in Tanzania in late February of this year and yet had no clue as to the president's identity or his educational background. According to Wikipedia, he has masters and doctorate degrees in chemistry which gives me no reason to consider *anything* he said about coronavirus as *data*. You, obviously, have different standards about what constitutes data. So, you're saying that this guy is lieing about the results of these submitted tests? So you're saying those were qualified and approved coronavirus test kits, processed by a qualified laboratory? Where's your source for that? And where's your source for that? This the only tweet from Tanzania's president, Dr. John Magufuli, the fifth President of The United Republic of Tanzania regarding the coronavirus:
April 16 Ndugu zangu Watanzania, kutokana na ugonjwa wa Corona, nawaomba tutumie siku 3 za kuanzia tarehe 17- 19 Aprili, 2020 {Ijumaa, Jumamosi na Jumapili} KUMUOMBA MWENYEZI MUNGU aliye muweza wa yote atuepushe na janga la ugonjwa huu. Tusali kwa kila mmoja kwa imani yake, atatusikia.
My fellow Tanzanians, from Corona's disease, I urge you to spend 3 days from April 17 to 20, 2020 {Friday, Saturday and Sunday} Praying for the Almighty God to save us from the scourge of this disease. Pray for each one of his faith, he will hear us. =====================
No disrespect to his appeal for prayer to help protect his country, but I'll stick with Dr. Tony Fauci's method. Also, I don't mean to be critical, perhaps it's a failure of Google Translate, but is he suggesting his fellow Tanzanians pray for protection for only the 61% of the population that's Christian?

And that's all I have. That's why I presented it, to see what people thought. And I got my answer. Thank you for your input and mission accomplished. But never mind that for a minute, here's where we'll have to agree to disagree because I trust Dr. Fauci & his affiliates about as far as I can throw this building that I'm standing in right now. I'mean do you see the type of people this Social Distancing Show guy has on his show? People like Bill Gates?! Are you kidding me? Who, according to Robert F Kennedy Jr, has damaged more people with his vaccine programs than anybody to date? 496,000 children paralyzed from a polio vaccine program in India and 3 million steralized and made chronically ill, in Kenya, as a result of a Tetanus vaccine program, where the doses were laced with HCG. Really, check into that. But I'm glad you brought this up because it illuminates something really interesting. What I mentioned above will never make it on to the Mainstream news sources and therefore, that, in many peoples' minds, will automatically make it invalid. So it's a perfectly closed information loop in which nothing other that the official story is respected. Which, logically, will always leave us to only believe what the media tells us and nothing more. Anyone venturing outside of those sources for information will automatically be dismissed as invalid. So it appears we come from radically different belief systems about medicine and where credibility lies in our culture. We trust in different authority figures and institutions. Fair enough. We could go back and forth all day about who's source is more credible than the other but we would never respect each other's sources because we feel that either they are incompetent or intrinsically corrupt. So this has been a constructive argument even though we strongly disagree with each other. We've discovered why people argue about health issues (vaccines, medical choice, ect). It's a belief system conflict. And maybe it's good to have those belief systems existing side by side, it keeps us both sharp. And that's a good intellectual exercise to periodically re-check our personal philosophies. So, don't misconstrue this conversation as an attack, because we both actually learned something today. Peace be with you.

History has shown that the scientific community has been wrong far too many times. For example, the earth is flat and the center of the universe. That nothing exists that’s smaller than the naked eye can see, so there were no germs, bacteria or viruses and there was no need to sterilize for operations. That disease originated from bad odors. The list is long. Science is about discovery and about debate. There are truths and there are theories, the danger is when we start to get the two mixed up.

Now I'm really confused - your original statement was "History has shown that the scientific community has been wrong far too many times." Now you're are saying they were overridden by government or special interest. The inconsistency of your "logic" is staggering.

Let’s clarify, do you believe that the scientific community has ever be wrong? Maybe “overridden” was a bad choice of words, maybe heavily influenced by government or special interests would have worked better. Please have someone look at that nerve, it seems to get stepped on a lot.
