"Would you pay for Apple News+ if the articles were read aloud?" My take: New hope for long-form print journalism in the age of the podcast. FWIW, the option to listen to the articles has been a part of The Economist for awhile now. I prefer reading, but my wife liked the option.

I think it’s a great option for those wanting to multitask, such as driving. Two birds, one stone.

I tried News+ and I was blocked from reading so many articles, for not having a subscription to the source, that I gave up. Didn’t like the experience at all because of that. So audio would make no difference. Just one opinion.

DED has S1: How Apple's custom iPad silicon powered a leap into wearables to remind us that years of forward-looking planning and execution have given Apple the control of their own destiny that enables them to weather (and even benefit competitively from) challenges such as those currently faced by the entire computer device industry.

And with a family plan my daughters can read some of the things that they like as well.

It has enough content to keep me interested...

Stanford research on wearables being used to detect Covid 19One of my primary beliefs as previously stated is that at some point in the future, it will be seen as backwards and primitive that we don't know what is going on within our bodies. Meaning that the wearables market is in its infancy. I am confident that Tim Cook and the senior leadership team is aware of and supporting this research. If it bears fruit, then wearables become a "must-have" device. Likely a long way to go, but the potential is intriguing.

Just an observation - but good to see the markets pulling back a bit this week - this rise has been meteorc, and we needed some fear and caution intervene. I have no idea director, but the power of the rally from the lows was something. I haven't bought or sold much at all this week - just a couple of sideways moves in smaller positions.
good luck all!

FWIW, the option to listen to the articles has been a part of The Economist for awhile now. I prefer reading, but my wife liked the option. I think it’s a great option for those wanting to multitask, such as driving. Two birds, one stone. Yep, I would have loved this when commuting over the mountain, 9 years ago. I listened to NPR then to hear the news, but often it was a partial duplicate of the 30 minutes of reading I did while eating breakfast. On the other hand, I hate it when Yahoo Finance, or CNN, or whatever has a video where I just want to read a quick blurb, when at home on the computer or anywhere on my iPhone. Especially with CNN that throws a 30 second ad in front of it. There have been many times where I have just pushed 'back', not wanting to sit through a 30 second ad to see whatever it is. I suppose on the ski lift and skiing I could have news+ read stories to me, which would be more straightforward than getting the iPhone out, ungloving and logging in (facial recognition doesn't work with goggles), scrolling through things, reading, and then trying to get everything back together before getting off the lift. Maybe I'll try it next winter. Or paddle boarding or MTBing, I could have it read stories. Yep, plenty of multitasking things, if that's what you are into. On the slopes and on the trail, it's a mix of people with an earbud in. I was never one to listen to music while running, other than sometimes as a pre-race warmup.
