Loved this, thanks for sharing! My main frustration with all things WS is that how focused it is on the next earnings release, quarter, vs. the longer term vision. When you look at just the tip of the possible iceberg of AAPL products and services over the next 10 years, it's pretty mind blowing, cheers.

We’ve been hearing rumors about Apple developing microLED displays for awhile now. MicroLED is better than OLED display in cost, yield, color accuracy and longevity. www.cens.com/cens/html/en/news/news_inner_54352.html“Apple is considering to invest over US$330 million in a factory in northern Taiwan to manufacture both LED and micro-LED displays for its iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, and other new devices. Apple is teaming up on the new factory with Epistar, Taiwan's top LED producer, and Taiwanese LCD panel maker, AU Optronics. The plant will be located in the Longtan branch of the Hsinchu Science Park and Apple's total investment is estimated at NT$10 billion (US$334 million)” www.microled-info.com/apple“In 2014 Apple acquired LuxVue Technology, a startup company that developed Micro-LED based displays. LuxVue raised $43 million in funding prior to the Apple purchase. Apple continues to research and develop Micro-LED technologies and established a research and production facility in Taoyuan, Taiwan. in 2017 reports suggested that Apple intends to start low-volume production of Micro-LED devices by the end of the year, with mass production commencing in 2018 (in-house or at production partners, which makes more sense). Apple's first goal is to adopt Micro-LED displays in smart watch devices.“

We may pick one up, but expect a refresh is relatively soon. I don't think we'll each get one at this time, just in case. The guessing game continues, even when Apple tries to stay silent. But, it happens in some other markets too, like wondering about specs and price of a hybrid version of the F-150. FTR, the specs and some pricing came out on the Hybrid Sienna, and it looks pretty great. Being in snow country, with the Sienna the only minivan with AWD, we see a lot of them and drive one. "It's just so practical". Thanks AAPL. And thanks Silver, which is making a comeback due to inflation/stimulus hedging and industrial use as world economies scale back up.

Thanks for the heads up. Lamarr was mentioned often in the QCOM thread I participated on in the late 90s and turn of the century. QCOM used much of her work in their development of CDMA (code division multiple access) that drove their stock up in that time period. They had key patents for cell communication because of it. I remember in late December of 1999 I had 400 shares of QCOM and their stock jumped $156 in one day, and up to that time it was my best 1 day gain on a single stock ever. I think I have surpassed that now with both Apple and Amazon but those were heady days at the turn of the Century. I will try and catch that series it should be fascinating.
