Some people are making a big deal out of not including a charger or earbuds with new iPhones. I don't think it's a big deal, however with a big caveat (at the end), for two reasons:
1. If you look in the boxes of my last 3 iPhones, you will see that the earbuds and the charger (and oddly enough the cable as well) are still in the box. That is wasteful, and perhaps Apple doesn't want to produce things wastefully? Why are they still in the box? Well, I use almost exclusively wireless charging nowadays, and when I do use a wired charger (if I am in a hurry, or if I am in the car with NAV apps running), I will use one that charges a lot faster than the anemic 1 amp charger that comes with iPhones, I use a 2.4 amp one instead. 2. As far as earbuds go, I haven't used wired earbuds for a LONG TIME. I use only bluetooth ones. Earbuds for running, and headphones at home (conf calls, etc) ... I just got a pair of Bose 700s which are pretty good. Also, I rarely see anyone using wired ones anymore. So, again, why put them in the box just to go to waste?
CAVEAT: I think iPhones need two SKUs, one for former iPhone users and one for "new" iPhone users. The former should have nothing but the iPhone, and maybe a cable, in the box (as is rumored to be the case), and the latter, for those new to iPhone, should include everything - the phone, the cable, the charger (hopefully a fast charger), and a pair of lightning connector earbuds. And, yes, the price can be slightly different, maybe $50 or so? $30?

Any reason to not just have that as an accessory pack, since it would be the same (or similar, if some can use a faster charger) no matter the model, nor the color. Add one or two skus, instead of a whole ton of them. But, this would also be a time to push the upgrades. Instead of buying this accessory pack for $30-50, spend that money on a wireless charging pad, AirPods, or the like. Apple products, or third party. FWIW, I have never used the ear buds in my last 2 iPhones, though it would have been nice to have the lightning to audio adapter. I missed that, since my old 5S still had an audio port, and the new 11 didn't come with the adapter.

The newbie accessory pack. Yes! I suppose. But I, for example, never buy Apple accessories ... they are 3 times the price of other, reasonable quality, alternatives. I buy Anker chargers, Anker and other off-brand cables, and lately Anker charging pads (I also have a few other brands that work well enough, and just bought a cheapie $6.99 one a few days ago). I bought something called "Henkur" for a car dash mount, and so far it is working reasonably well (but one of the screws came loose twice so far and I had to fish inside the plastic to find it and reconnect).
