Asia, Europe and US futures are all read. It seems the market wants to compress the price of AAPL even more before the liftoff that is the iPhone 5 launch and our run to earnings. AAPL is down 0.51% on very light volume in the early pre-market. Gots to defeat those 700 calls! To give JD full credit

I am seriously thinking of getting a license plate or a plaque for my house that says "Buy the F'ing Dip!"

New Nansen blog post tonight, "Expecting the Unexpected" nanseninvestments.com/"Apple is showing us again how the market makers keep Apple pninned at the 700 level until the huge volume of Sept 700 calls are cleared. I do not complain about it because it is a fact all Apple investors have to deal with, especially those who invest in options. Mani explained yesterday how to successfully take advantage of this phenomena week in and week out. I fully expect to see Apple rise up on Friday sometime when it is finally free of this collar. It is showing amazing strength. When it lifts, the immediate target will be 723. . . . " Nansen goes on and says: "Next week will mark only 4 weeks until October earnings. We are fast approaching the point when Apple really likes to rally before earnings. In this 4 week window, we will probably get an ipad mini announcement and maybe news of an imac refresh. I am beginning to feel Apple is wanting to rally hard. An ideal way to trap people by the pros would be to add gasoline to any fire Apple shows as it lifts off 700 and really help it ramp up steeply for a couple of weeks; a really parabolic burst. This would draw in a lot of people who are dying to get in on this Apple mania. Then, right at the top of the enthusiasm, Apple goes on a 2 week sell off right into October earnings like we did after the last parabolic run that peaked on April 10 at 644, and then sold off to 555, on April 24th, the day of earnings. That peak was exactly 2 weeks before earnings. Apple dropped $89 and 13.8%. It dropped from an 18.34 PE to a 15.80 ratio. Let’s play that April quarter out for October and see how it would compare now. A run up to 18.34 PE ratio would take us to a high of 780 on October 9; then a sell off to a 15.80 ratio that would be 672."We are currently at a PE of 16.5. Comparing it to the March/April price action we would be at around $580 (back then on March 16th). The stock rose for another 16 trading days before hitting a PE of 18.3 and then collapsing. Will it turn out similarly this time? So another three weeks before we reach a top?

I am assuming that Judge Koh will be making some comments today, no? I thought at one point there was potentially going to be an injunction hearing today but that it all ended up getting moved to December.

Looks like Judge Koh pushed it to December 6th so I am wrong...nothing for today.
But I believe the damages hearing is Sept. 21 (tomorrow) and I'm guessing AAPL will ask to triple the damages.

SPX been steady this week ... may be a high base ... got some negatives today that include China news and weaker than expected jobs number ... generally pleased with AAPL this week but kinda worried about the dropping volume all week ... just hoping we can stay around this $700 level this week

Edit: They were finally added. The problem corrected itself about the same time for those on TOS and IB. I'm thinking that Newman (the guy that adds the weeklies) slept in today. :-)

Rule of thumb: if the opening gap isn't closed in the first 90 minutes, chances of follow-through (in direction of gap) increase.

Anyone know how to change the clock? What I am seeing is that everyone's post are about 1 hour behind (or on CDT, and I'm in EDT).

Is anyone seeing the weekly options? I am not showing anything for Sept 28. Calling my TradeMonster now. It seems that TM will not show them until you force the page to reload--and switching tabs, like going to chart and back, is not enough; you must switch to a different options chain (SPY for me) and back, then they will show.

Yes, I had the same issue. Go to your profile, click modify profile, scroll down to timezone and make any necessary change. I had to click currently observing DST. Hope this helps! Anyone know how to change the clock? What I am seeing is that everyone's post are about 1 hour behind (or on CDT, and I'm in EDT).
