Yes, I had the same issue. Go to your profile, click modify profile, scroll down to timezone and make any necessary change. I had to click currently observing DST. Hope this helps! Mine says EDT and it is still off - I am having the same issue and the profile page didn't correct it Anyone have any thoughts? Make sure the "Currently Observing DST" is clicked to "Yes"

It's getting more and more undeniable that iOS 6 maps is a disaster for many people (certainly not the majority, but for those affected it's a real pain). I think Apple dropped the ball on this, and once word-of-mouth gets out that 'Here in city X iOS maps sucks', it's going to affect sales IMHO. It seems like a hard problem to solve, but I'd really like to see some clear commitment from Apple to improve Maps as quick as they can. theamazingios6maps.tumblr.com/

No moves here. My two most recent positions are currently up 20% and 35% (April $650 and $600), and at market open I decided to hold. Together these two make up about a third of our self-managed accounts.

I was presently surprised with iOS6 Maps. Its more legible. The turn by turn directions are great. My current location seems (after 1 trip on 1 day) more accurate.
Last night I was at a restaurant on a divided road in a nearby town. I was surprised that Maps correctly placed me in the parking lot on the side of the divided road opposite of where I wanted to be and correctly routed me out of the parking lot using the most direct route to where I wanted to be. That is something Google Maps didn't do.
Given the negative reviews, I was surprised and wondering how other people use Maps...

It's a disaster for the affected customer - who rightly doesn't care how many Bothans died to bring them this great piece of technology, they just want it to be an improvement over the last one. It's possible to use Google Maps in the browser, or to splash out on a GPS app with a better map (they tend to be expensive, I've noticed), but neither are great solutions. This is just going to keep giving bad PR on a daily basis, and as I said it seems like it's a hard problem to solve for Apple. Expect Android manufacturers to start making comparisons in ads.

I'm not sure what you see, but whole cities covered with a cloud , restaurants in Hudson river, major spots showing all distorted. Some cities in black and white, some blurry.. This is not about transit missing. These maps have large areas missing in major countries. Who knows what's with smaller countries nobody looked at yet. Level of detail is not there.. oh the pain

Given the negative reviews, I was surprised and wondering how other people use Maps... Probably not all that differently from you, just with worse data for their location.

I was surprised and wondering how other people use Maps... I live near a river with wonderful walking/biking trails. Google maps includes these trails when I request walking routes. Apple's tool does not. I far prefer the new map for actual driving, but since I walk more than than I drive, this is a regression. For mass transit I expect that 3rd party providers will actually provide better information over time. However, I also fear that in some markets it will be unclear which tools are superior in particular areas. [edited to add:] This matters because discovery of local apps to provide transit info and choosing which one to download or purchase is an intrusive and effortful activity which detract from the experience. I understand the reasons for this design decision, and feel that Apple made prudent choices for how to handle the problem of balkanized transit data. However, what was seamless and invisible is now very visible and requires effort from the user. It significantly detracts from the experience. Also, I wonder how map data will improve over time. The map shows my apartment about 200 yards away from me (at the other end of my street). It is unclear how and to whom to provide correct information. This will take time to play out.

Anyone know how to change the clock? What I am seeing is that everyone's post are about 1 hour behind (or on CDT, and I'm in EDT). There is a drop down for daylight savings time.

still have iOS 5 on my original iPad and was comparing satellite imagery of a couple of our properties in Croatia ... surprised that Maps in iOS 6 shows a more detailed and possibly more recent image
as far as anything around home in GTA it looks to be similar to Google Maps in iOS 5 ... so personally no complaints from me but I can sympathize with heavy Map users in other locales ... I'm confident this situation will improve just not sure how quickly

So far (limited use), the new Maps is an improvement for me. There's no doubt it won't be for others and Apple will get plenty of flak for that. It had to get worse before it gets better. But is that enough for people to ditch iOS? Only time will tell, but I doubt it.
Imagine someone deciding to switch from an iPhone to a Galaxy S3. They get better maps and a couple of Google services/apps that work better on Android. But they lose quick OS updates, Siri, iCloud, Apple build quality & service, better apps, smoother/faster UI, etc. The iPhone has 90+% customer satisfaction for very good reason. Nothing with the iPhone 5 or iOS 6 will change that for the worse.

Funny how sometimes there's a battle of opposite thoughts going on in my mind simultaneously. While I want the stock to go up so I can sell and profit from my short-term trades, I also want the stock to fall hard so I can pick up the dips and make money when AAPL bounces back. Oh well...
Waiting for (a possible) 702 so I can sell my remaining 10 calls of Sep 680 that expire tomorrow.

There is a drop down for daylight savings time. Appreciate the response. But where exactly is the drop down? Go to the upper right corner of this page. Select Modify profile from the Quick Jump menu. At the bottom of the profile setting page, select your time zone, and just beneath it, set DST to yes.

Setting the time zone and DST works on the web site, but not in the iOS app, as far as I can tell. Once set using the web site, correct times should show up in the app, as long as you are logged in.

The macro view simply doesn't provide enough detail to allow sufficient route planning. And, why does satellite view look "cartooney"? I haven't had enough time to check out all of maps yet, but I can't believe, had this product had to get past Steve J, that this product would have been released yet. It just doesn't feel like it's ready for prime time. Let's face it, Goog maps are the standard to which to compare to, and these maps don't yet compare to theirs. And I hate that! Apple has defined it's brand and set customer expectations by delivering World Class Products, and Maps do not meet that standard. When will Apples Maps be world class?

I completely agree, this is a pretty big miss by Apple. I hope they come out with a fix soon. The worst thing about the new maps is the traffic, its absolutely horrible. I live in a major metropolitan area and their traffic looks like a kid colored it, it only shows major slow downs and the occasional 30mph patch but it doesn't show you where its green like the old maps did. I think its atrocious and I hope they fix it real quick or I hope that google maps comes out with an app, I will use that. I did find that mapquest app provides google maps like traffic detail, but I hate that I had it all in the old maps and now I lost it. Kind of reminds me of the whole apple finance board moving because noone listened to us. I hope it doesn't happen with Apple.

Paris Apple staff to strike for iPhone 5 launch A strike is set to ahead at three Apple stores in Paris to coincide with the Friday launch of the new iPhone 5. One Apple employee speaking to FRANCE 24 compared his job to “working in a coal mine.” Apple Store workers in Paris are set to go on strike Friday in a dispute over pay and working conditions. The industrial action in the French capital’s three Apple stores is set to coincide with the launch of company's latest offering, the iPhone 5. Workers there complain about the high-pressure working environment and low salaries. “It’s like working in a coal mine,” one part-time worker, who asked not to be named, told FRANCE 24. "Arriving on time is frowned upon" Staff, he said, were monitored by CCTV “all the way to the toilet door”, were searched when leaving work and endured a work culture where “even arriving on time is frowned upon”. “We are expected to arrive well before we are due to start. I put in at least 30 hours in a 25-hour week job contract,” he said, adding that workers were only allowed one break in the middle of their nine-hour shifts - which is almost unheard-of in France. “Meanwhile, we are chronically understaffed and most of us are part-timers, which is astonishing considering the company’s staggering profits," he said. "Apple, frankly, could be doing much more to alleviate the pressure.” Key demands by workers include a “13th month”, in which employees are given a double salary cheque, normally at the end of December, which is common practise in France. Workers are also demanding subsidised meal vouchers - another norm in France - as part of their pay packet. According to the French version of the Huffington Post, “last chance” negotiations between workers and managers at the end of Wednesday came to little. more here www.france24.com/en/20120920-french-apple-store-workers-threaten-strike-iphone-5-launch-paris-employment-huffington-post-?ns_campaign=editorial&ns_source=RSS_public&ns_mchannel=RSS&ns_fee=0&ns_linkname=20120920_french_apple_store_workers_threaten_strike&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed

MAPGATE!
Tempest, meet teapot. Apple can literally update Maps every single day if it wanted. UI IS superior to Google, and there 's huge incentive to get better.
Down day strikes. Hedged up a bit. Took relatively mild paper losses. I'll muddle thru somehow.

Apple Maps is more accurate for the satellite view of my home, much more recent. Google's is stale at a couple of years old. Over the years, Google maps data here has varied: better at times, worse at others, every time it was re-imaged. I didn't like the latest (current) Google version much vs the previous Google versions because for some reason, they'd oversharpened all of it and it looked very artificial.
I also have no street view of my home, it's a dead end and the GoogleCar apparently didn't bother, even though neighboring streets are covered.
The more I use the new Apple maps, the more I like them.

If Maps REALLY killed iPhone 5, those reviewers would've shredded Apple for it.
And they didn't.
This is somewhat like cut/copy/paste, MMS, landscape view, multitasking. Give it time. Unlike Siri, Apple can incrementally improve Maps at a much faster clip, since it's a matter of adding in images/vectors and restaurants and stuff. AND, if it's more of an App Store backend, there's a possibility that at least some improvements (like adding locations and 3D photos) can be done without an iOS update.
