In advance of the Big Show in Congress this week, Benedict Evans has Regulating technology. In sum, it’s complicated, and unfortunately beyond the understanding of many politicians, who cannot see beyond their own self-interest. One need only see what goes on here among folks who are more interested and in many cases more directly involved in the business of Technology to expect more than one moment of cringe-worthy pontification.
I’ll be watching with excitement and fear, but in Tim I trust.

Exactly. There is no bogey man here. Buy a chipset from Qualcomm or Mediatek, stick the latest Android software from Google on it, and you have a commodity phone. The original story is recycled nonsense designed for page hits. The idea that cheap Android paint-by-number phones are a threat to Apple's business model has been around for years. Wasn't true then. Isn't true now.
