Boy, Brady looks awful. This game is not nearly as fun to watch as the other one was. I''m not the type to hate on success. But a guy who is rich, tall, looks like a model, collects super bowl rings on his way to the Hall of Fame, and who knocks up supermodels in his spare time, might be due for some adversity in life. Just sayin'. I like Flacco. He has been a solid performer for years. Kudos to him.

pinning is separate from "manipulation". closing at 500 today is just math as a result of puts and calls closing out. MM tanking the stock down to the 500ish area in the first place, now that's a different matter. I find it amazing how many on this board think options expiration day results in a "manipulated" closing price. It is really just math. Closing out options drives the price in the opposite direction. A bullish option purchase drives the common price up, while closing the position drives it down. If the option holder exercises instead of closing the position than there is no pinning effect. I understand that the price movement appears manipulated as the pinning frequently causes the buyers of the options to perform sub optimally. But... Appearances can be deceiving. Those that don't understand this and make money in the options market should consider themselves very fortunate (and a novice). FUD on the other hand can and is used to manipulate the market. Any genius trader or investor who poo-poo's pain theory, feel free to post your YoY results that beat Travis Lewis' 107% yearly performance.

Just sayin'. Well he did have his knee blown out a few years ago. Gonna be a crappy Superbowl. Baltimore did not play great, NE just looked out of sorts. SF's defense should dominate in the Superbowl. I am ready for college football to start back.

the latest rumor out of china Rumor: Apple to debut 4.8" 'iPhone Math' device alongside next-gen iPhone in June By AppleInsider Staff The latest rumors out of Asia claim that Apple will launch its next-generation iPhone, a cheaper model handset and a surprise large-format device with a large 4.8-inch screen tentatively dubbed the "iPhone Math" over the course of 2013. Apple's current generation iPhone 5 may be joined by two new models in 2013. Citing upstream supply chain sources, the China Times (via global investment news service BrightWire) reports that Apple will unveil the three iPhones at staggered launches throughout the year, with the first two being the next-generation iPhone and the 4.8-inch "phablet" device. These people claim a third model, which is expected by many to be a more affordable entry-level device, will debut before the holiday season. It should be noted that AppleInsider cannot vouch for the veracity of the sources' claims and offer the following information for purposes of discussion only. Recent reports have suggested Apple may debut a more affordable handset this year, but none have mentioned the "iPhone Math," which the publication says will help the company stay competitive in light of rival manufacturers' phablet offerings. Details regarding device specs remain scarce, but the publication claims both the next-gen iPhone and the "iPhone Math" will boast an 8-megapixel camera. Chinese firm Largan Precision has supposedly taken orders of some 8 million camera lenses for the rumored iPhones. Component shipments, including touchscreen panels and cameras, are supposedly set to begin in March ahead of a late-April production timeline. Apple manufacturing partner Hon Hai, better known as Foxconn, will reportedly be responsible for 90 percent of the orders. The claims are in line with analyst predictions regarding production of Apple's iPhone 5 follow-up handset, with manufacturing expected to begin in March ahead of a launch in June or July. A recent report from well-connected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo noted that the next-generation iPhone will likely include a fingerprint scanner built into the home button. He also expects a more affordable iPhone range to debut in the third quarter of 2013. The new model will be similar in design to the iPhone 5 but will replace the expensive aluminum chassis with a polycarbonate version available in six different colorways. forums.appleinsider.com/t/155545/rumor-apple-to-debut-4-8-iphone-math-device-alongside-next-gen-iphone-in-june

Nothing would make me happier. The 4.8" would be very welcome. The screen on the 5 is retina, but a 4.8" retina would be spectacular. Here is what I take away from this news, Apple is moving extremely fast to get away from Samsung. The news last week about TSMC building chips and as we know, Sharp will be supplying most of the displays. (IGZO) Samsung Fuck You.

Most likely a translation issue. Apple would never deviate from its labeling. JMO of course.

Here is my thought. The market makers on apple's options (those that sold calls to retail investors like me) probably acquired common shares as a hedge for the calls they sold. That can help explain the parabolic run we experienced - smart money was selling calls and buying shares at the same time. Now that apple's jan exp has occurred - we hopefully have them on our side as the shares they bought can run up for a bit. Once apple gets to a certain level - market makers will rinse and repeat. Lets see what tues brings.

I've read a few writers/analysts/advisors who are speculating on the release of a line of phones in a range of colors more diverse than black and white, some taking their cues from a similar development in the iPod line some years ago. I'm not sure what to think of this. At first, it seems fun, so why not? White is a popular alternative to black. But then I wonder how it will play, given that most users express themselves with protective cases in a wide variety of colors and patterns. What do you think? How can someone called the Red Ensign find the crimson and gold 49ers unsympathetic? It boggles.

I think it was an SA article, but a well reasoned one, not one of those wacko's. I also think Demark's comments about the bottom being in related to the expiration of the Jan LEAP's. I may be reading in to much, but like you, I think we will have some up headed our way as long as we come in over 14. I would like to think AAPL could get back to a 14 p/e. It would still be trading at a discount to the market.

Just got my confirmation for my stay in Vegas at the end of March. Last year (when I had money) I bought a weekend stay at the Palazzo through AMEX. It was one of those to good to pass up offers. They did not tell me I was going to have to jump through a hundred hoops to actually get it. Geeeeeez I love American Express. The cost of the card is nothing when compared to the benefits you receive. (special purchase deals not available to the general public. Hotels, shows, concerts, companion tickets, free luggage on flights, etc......)
