FTR, there is only one mod, that would be madam dictator Lovey. ;D
As for the weekend thread straying off topic, please, it is the weekend. The forum has many different topics and is organized just fine. Finding fault with the way the weekend thread is going is finding fault with the people who actually provide the content of the forum. (the regular posters)

... The #1 reason why I did not purchase an iPhone 5 was the screen size. I went with a Galaxy Note 2 (and I love the large screen). Many of us who are getting older - eyes not like they were even 5 years ago, who has large fingers, or uses the phone more as a media consumption device than an actual phone (not to mention wants an easier typing experience with a larger on screen keyboard) wants a larger screen/phone ... Do you use a Black Berry previously?

Do you use a Black Berry previously? No, I had an iPhone 3GS that was out of contract. (Contracts in Canada are typically 3 years long and that 3 year period had ended in June. So I was waiting all summer for the iPhone 5). Prior to that I had a Blackberry Curve, but that was primarily a work-only device at the time. I was thinking of holding out to wait for the Blackberry 10, but I was also waiting for the iPhone 5 and hoping for a larger screen. Rumours of Blackberry 10's 4.2" screen didn't impress me - I was looking for 4.7" screen or bigger. I was also sort of getting bored of iOS. The widget capability of Android did impress me. Also the Maps issues in iOS were discouraging, as all my buddies with iPhones said Maps sucked. So lots of different reasons why I didn't go with the iPhone 5 but the #1 reason was screen size. Fit and finish, speed - all tops on the iPhone 5, but the screen size (just being a bit taller) wasn't what I wanted, and I've heard more than one person with the same view as me.

I may be in a minority on this board but i absolutely love the size of the screen and the size of the iPhone 5. As a female, it makes the previous iPhones feel like a brick. I can do everything with one hand now (don't go there - be grown ups) and can't help but wonder what the gender split is with the buyers of all iPhones. Just wondering.

This is what happens when sentiment is bad. A larger iPhone is a gimmick. It adds next to nothing. But if idiots want to buy it, maybe Apple should sell it to them. Doc, Calling us idiots because you have not thought this through is shameful. If you think about it, the 5 was a bigger screen than the 4/4S. Hello! So was it not necessary and a gimmick then? When Apple went to a taller screen, the scaling should have allowed for some width to be added and retain the retina display. What people like me look for Apple to do is increase the screen size but not increase the form factor much. What Apple has done with the ipad mini is amazing, they can do it with the iphone.

I would chose a similar size iPhone vs a bigger one. My whole family has access to iPads. To this day they prefer to surf on the iPhones or Touch because they can put it in their pockets easily. I am sure there are those who want a bigger iPhone, but at this time they are in the minority. Apple can afford to wait and make a larger iPhone when the market is a bit more saturated. I say in one year.

looks like 504 close in Frankfurt Looking at the page I posted earlier, it would appear that trading is still going on AH in Stuttgart, Tradegate and Lang & Schwarz, and it's currently trading between 378 and 379 Euros. To be honest, I wasn't even aware of those exchanges until very recently.

I read a short article today about comparing NE Patriots and Apple. As a Patriots fan I actually noticed the comparison. Both Apple and NE Pats have had a tremendous 2000's and have both been taken for granted. Both are loved by some who respect success and hated by others for that same reason. Both tend to run themselves much different others. They believe in structure, discipline, strategy, secrecy and planning. Yes, Pats lost last night which was a poorly coached game that could have easily won, but they continue season after season to produce winning football when no other team has been able to do that. My hope is Apple doesn't give me two disappointments in the same week.

Went from Palm to Windows on a Samsung then HTC (windows) then iPhone. As TC said one time, I got tired of being a Systems Integrator. IMHO Windows is being killed by Android. They (goog) don't charge for the OS and hardware vendors hate licensing.

I agree with everything you stated below Phoe. I have no desire to have a phone with a larger screen and yes, I am a man. With that being said I do believe that there is a market for a phone with a larger screen, especially for men that feel some how inadequate in other ways The last sentence was just for humor, send the lynch mob home I may be in a minority on this board but i absolutely love the size of the screen and the size of the iPhone 5. I still can't stop thinking: I give you the iPhone "Math!" Maybe because the math works out on the margins. Maybe because Chinese put such a high value on education I don't believe the story (at least the name) but I can't stop smiling thinking of the marketing dept presentation to TC and unveiling the name, the "Math" is the highlight of a presentation. I would have not been able to stop crying with laughter.

That its incorrect...or do you have some research to back it up? Blackberry had like 90% of the Smartphone market 6+ years ago, so pretty much anyone that used a Smartphone used a Blackberry. I'm sure a lot of those 90% have went to iPhone as well. Just as I'm sure that a significant number of new entries into the Smartphone world have chosen both Android or iPhone. I really fail to see a correlation between Galaxy users and Blackberry users. I was a Blackberry user for 5 years before converting over to iPhone.

... Makes sense that BB users would migrate to a competitor of Apple. My point is BB users are used to big physical keys so are naturally attracted to the bigger keys and bigger display of Galaxy. Old habits die hard.
