Speaking of PED, interesting post about how well PC makers are doing these days.
Canalys: PC makers are having a ‘stellar’ pandemic, Apple more than mostTake a look at that market share. Would you trade Apple's market position (and razor thin margins) with Lenovo, HP, or Dell? Market share obviously isn't everything, for those clamoring for an ultra cheap iPhone.

. Verizon has had a 5G version of our previous connection point available all year, but it has never tested at any higher throughput than the connection we have always had. How are you testing it? Do you have a 5G phone?

Do you have a 5G phone? Mea culpa. I guess I just always think of the Macs as being the most capable Apple devices, but given that it’s a few years old the answer is likely that it was a stupid test. Thanks for the wake up call.

Give Macs occupy the premium end of the market how much more market share can they gain beyond 8.1%? Or another question might be, what % of the premium market does Apple occupy? For me I see Mac as a value proposition, for work and personal use. The eco system, security and ease of use, and life span easily trump initial price. But it the general market value propositions are a hard sell as most consumers are so uncritical and impulse buy (armchair economist here). I guess Apple knows this and in addition, markets their value proposition products as desirable and as things to aspire to.

Even though rumors these days tend to be pretty accurate, I try not to get too worked up over the specifics. OTOH, it looks like the big question for us on Tuesday will be if the pro is worth it, or if the normal 12 in either size is a good fit as a replacement for my wife's 8+ (which in general is doing ok, but neither of it's screen replacements have been that great even if they were both highly rated on Amazon). I'm still loving my 11, and while I haven't been comparing it to a pro, it hasn't felt lacking in any way. It will be great to see the new stuff, and I'll be interested in how they sell both 5G and LiDAR, even if what we mostly care about is the screen, processor, and cameras.

I'm definitely thinking about replacing my X, even though it has become my least used device. I'm currently thinking about iPhone 12 mini. The screen is very close to the same size, and it has many of the modern features.
