Has anyone noticed that iFixit found the Qualcomm chip inside iPhone5 which supports TD-SCMA (China Mobile network) I noticed this several weeks ago when going over reports of components which had been leaked (stolen) from the supply chain. This is very good news, but in my opinion this is not yet tradable news. The deal is still being worked on with China Mobile. It is also uncertain (and in my opinion, unlikely) that wither of the two current models are yet compatible with China Mobile's network. To work on a particular carrier, it is not sufficient to have a compatible radio chip. You also have to have an antenna system tailored to the appropriate frequency bands. I am sure that have design ready to go into production but don't expect it this year. I think the optimum time for this roll out in that market is Chinese New Year, Feb 10, 2013. I would not expect any announcement before late January or early February. Thanks, that's good to know

This new board + proboard app is awesome. Truly grateful, I'd hate to have to depend on Yahoo's AAPL forum for discussion. Thanks to iPad and the 200+ members.

So he is. I just read the post from last night for the first time. He's 95% cash. I stand corrected. Thanks for the info. I have to say, this disappointed me about Jason. On Wendesday I thought he put up a pretty good rationale for buying, specifically stating that he was buying Nov calls so that there were multiple catalysts between now and then, SHOULD ANYTHING HAPPEN. Then the next day, he sells almost as if in a panic ignoring what he said the day before. Did the climate really change that much in one day? I feel he's getting a little like me - buy hi, sell low due to emotions ;D Yup, that was quite a flip-flop.

Is it me or do options prices look strange today? The September 22 700 calls are trading at a slight premium (10-15¢) to the underlying share price while the 705's are around $1 premium.

Activating my new phone too! Man, it's light and seems so much bigger... and the pixels are right there at the surface - cool! UPS man said that mine was his third delivery today - and his third iPhone. Also said practically everybody was working tomorrow at UPS (at time and a half) to keep up with the flow.

Watching the stock price for the last 3 hours is like watching grass grow!! And where I live, grass is not much growing anymore around that time of the year.

Seeing the iphone5 lines at the stores I feel Samsung has just wasted millions$ on their mocking-apple ads.

I'll just keep waiting on the sidelines for now. I'll probably buy closer to end of day because of Quad Witching w(h)ackiness. Core Jan 14 BCS trade hasn't gone anywhere since I bought it. A close over 700.01 would be insane. A close over 695 would be alright by me too. At this point, even 701 could be in the cards. Who knows? ;D Make it happen, all you AAPL longs out there! Break through that wall of calls!

I think we have a decent chance of rocketing into the close in the last 90 minutes as the calls close out. We'll see.

Though I sounded a note of eternal optimism...for this day only...AAPL is hovering a little below the open. Then we watch the low of the day.

I'm surprised that none of the Analysts have picked up on this yet. This is HUGE news. I don't know why this was supposedly some big mystery when Cook said in the keynote that iPhone 5 supports TD-SCMA.

Although I have leapt into the shallow end of the options pool, I am still kinda new at this, so I am going to risk a question. Does the resistance come from the people holding the calls or the people who would have to pay them? My thought is that call sellers would want the calls to expire worthless and call holders would benefit from a higher price. So the resistance is from the people who sold the calls? Or is this a Mr. Market/Max Pain thing, where the perverse nature of the market seems to want the maximum number of options to expire worthless? Edit to reduce flame Well, examine your own experience. Are you buying or selling options? Almost certainly buying, as most retail options traders do. Selling options typically requires far more equity - and higher approval levels by one's broker - and we can't even get agreement amongst the AFB braintrust that it's a good idea (it is when done right, far OTM, or to dump or acquire shares). The vast majority of option writes are by EO's/MM's who do not want to pay them off. So the war rages for the next hour, $700 calls vs iPhone 5 release buzz. Or as I like to call it, Hybrid Mode™. AAPL finishing above $700 would be significantly bullish, IMO.

UPS just brought me a present...the driver said he only had 3 on his truck and only 10 came into the local distribution center. I'm an hour north of Pdx where roni is located, but it's a whole other world up here.
must go activate ! Just a beautiful and simple design.
