I shouldn’t complain after the incredible last 18 months, but this feels like the old days when Apple/AAPL got no respect regardless of performance. Still shaking my head over the reaction to last quarter’s incredible results. Hope you traders out there have been able to take advantage of this. Perhaps these two things are related. Tim Cook is tweeting about social justice and climate and illegal alien amnesty instead of explaining about how Apple is leading the way in innovation and revenue expansion. To the average investor, this does not seem like Apple is laser focused. Steve would never be wasting time (or attention share) on this SJW silliness.

For the long term investor, that disconnect is often the time of opportunity with AAPL. I’ve not regretted a single share purchased during these periods. AAPL has taught me the art of patience, and I’m much better off because of it. Carry on Tim!

View AttachmentThat happens sometimes, especially when there is a large number of options outstanding at that strike price. It's not magic, it's the reasonable actions of rational investors (that wrote those options).

Sure...and perhaps there are millions of folks who are grateful to be able to invest in a company that attempts to pay attention to social responsibility while still making money hand over fist. YMMV

YMMV I can think of few things dumber than investing in a company because of its CEO's politics. And if Tim were ranting about right wing stuff, I'd still think it was stupid. You automatically piss off half your audience. Tim is paid to run Apple and make stockholders rich. If he wants to ramble about politics, he should go run a PAC or an NGO.

Investing in GameStop Corp. immediately comes to mind. However, I took chinacat's comment to mean that it's nice to invest in a company that makes money hand over fist but *also* pays attention to social responsibility...as opposed to those companies that are considered socially irresponsible by some: 10 Biggest Socially Irresponsible Companies In AmericaAnd if Tim were ranting about right wing stuff, I'd still think it was stupid. You automatically piss off half your audience. I agree. If Tim were ranting about right-wing stuff, I'd also think that was stupid. Tim is paid to run Apple and make stockholders rich. If he wants to ramble about politics, he should go run a PAC or an NGO. As near as I can tell from folks commenting on AFB and on other online boards, for almost 10 years now, Tim has been doing *exactly* what he's being paid to do...he's making stockholders rich. 💰
