The iPhone 13 is going to sell like crazy, due to pent up demand and carrier subsidies.
Will that benefit AAPL stock? Uncertain. Good sales now can always be interpreted as “but what about next time?” High EPS now just means tough Y-O-Y compares next year.

Opps, forgot about ordering. We don't have to be in that much of a rush, but might as well. But a few other things to do today, so I might not get the order in before they pre-sale out.
Looks like Sierra Blue is popular here. Ours will be the 128 gig Pro.

Did my part and ordered a 256 Gb 13 pro in graphite. There is a story on MacRumors about folks having issues with checking out using an Apple Card. I had those issues. Tried twice, got two errors and said, “oh well I’ll try later.” However I ended up getting a confirmation email so I assume one of the two went through.

Here too for that 512gig config....except it says it can be picked up at the store next Friday. 256gig and 1T are the same way (only looking at unlocked), mid Oct for delivery, next Friday in store. The 128 gig version in blue is still available both ways for next Friday.

Well sure, I think, after the last three earnings reports and all the blather and FUD from pundits, we're all painfully aware that great financial results don't automatically result in AAPL rising. How's the diversification coming?

I completed my order 13 minutes after the pre-order hour opened this morning.
According to the receipt, delivery of a Pro Max 512GB Sierra Blue with a Blue Jay silicone case should arrive on Friday, September 24th.
Congratulations to all that finalized an order this morning!

How's the diversification coming? It's hard because I still believe in AAPL. But I've had some good success with partially diversifying in other tech stocks, like UPST, CRWD, MSFT, and buying options on SPY. Although right now, a lot of stocks are rolling over. But still, when SPY rolls over AAPL rolls over by twice the %

In ProRes video recording mode the 128gb version is limited to 1080p. From the tech specs info: ProRes video recording up to 4K at 30 fps (1080p at 30 fps for 128GB storage)

More negativity from me, sorry I know it's hard to hear. On the TA side, today was bad. Very bad. Today's action broke the multi-month trendline that AAPL has bounced off of several times. Unless it reverses above this line by the close today, TA would imply that there is more downside in the days ahead. The S&P is also flirting with a break of crucial support.

I don't expect this to be a worry for us, bu tit's good to know. OTOH if I start using video a lot and going pro, I'll buy myself a 1T version. Kids skiing. Kittens being kittens. Think of the possibilities. Got the friend's trailer hooked up and fixed a couple issues, before bringing it down today potentially for the season. With that ready, I just ordered a 13 Pro 128 gig in Sierra Blue for my wife. Delivery was pushed out until the middle of Oct, but same day pickup at the Reno store was available starting at 11:30 (they are opening at 8, and time slots are 15 minutes, so a lot of slots are taken assuming they are doing 4 or more per slot at this small/medium store). FWIW, some of the configs I looked at, mainly the 1T versions, are no longer available for pickup at our store. Good to see them selling, especially since I would expect Apple to skew initial production towards the high end/profit models. Congrats everyone on your purchases! Is anyone going to get a non-Sierra Blue color? Our last 3 have all been Red, but it isn't currently an option on the Pro, and the blue looks nice.

I'm sensing a theme...
Did my part. 256GB Sierra Blue iPhone Pro
Not leaps and bounds better than my 11 Pro, but they keep roping me in with the camera improvements. Not thrilled that each Pro generation seems to get slightly larger and heavier though.

I didn't used to either, I know sometimes TA seems like it only predicts the past, and that some people twist technicals to prove whatever they already believe. However, over the last couple years, I've found they are a powerful force that influences the psychological group behavior that is the market. If lots of people believe in technicals, then a break of a technical level can cause the herd to sell. Also, algorithmic trading is often based on technicals, so the same pressure gets multiplied by the computers that trade technicals. It's a self-fulfilling dynamic.

There are all kinds of properly designed studies that show this stuff doesn’t work. Good luck beating algorithmic trading. Each to their own, but I don’t believe the data backs any of this up for the retail little guy. What you are saying sounds like an anecdote to me, but if it works for you, all the more power to you.

Regardless of whether TA works or not. The more oversold on the RSI the more likely we go back up. Right now the 14 day is not close and the 7 day is just on the borderline. The 100 day MA is just at 142 or so. So no reason to panic unless your buying short term calls.

Good day for the China stocks. All the news is negative China for some reason. Maybe because of the commitment to the Chinese middle class. Do we have a Maoist FDR? The markets would hate that.

Congrats everyone on your purchases! Is anyone going to get a non-Sierra Blue color? Our last 3 have all been Red, but it isn't currently an option on the Pro, and the blue looks nice. Opps, I missed the 1 in graphite. Sorry. So, 6 iPhone orders, 5 in Sierra Blue, one in Graphite. 5 iPhone 13 Pro's, and one iPhone 13 Pro Max. I have to think that we are not a statistical sample for the whole. The opposite was talking to a friend today, who lost his iPhone in the lake a week and a half ago so he's been using an older iPhone. He didn't want to wait, and so ordered an iPhone 12 mini a week ago, and has it ready. And then there is my son's iPhone SE that he bought a month ago. It still mostly makes sense, but maybe I should have just upgraded mine and he could have had my 11.
